I agree with Ralph...we are playing better at home than last season. I know there would have been lots of happy clapping yesterday, but imagine the tension building as it remained 1-0. The groans when Walcott got himself in a good position then fluffed the finish, the moans of despair as Romeu hit the cross bar. Yesterday was a bad example as generally everyone would be enjoying it, but there have been games where the groans wouldn't be followed by immediate applause.

 

So? Come on, Vin - get cracking mate!!

 

So Vokins not fit for yesterday, even for the bench, but able to start today. Seems odd to me - I thought Stephens was our only weak link yesterday. It would it have been the perfect game for Vokins really

I’m with Tom (for once ) but understand where you’re coming from. We still have a very thin squad & that means a lot or a few of them would be playing in those cup games increasing injury possibilities, which we can’t afford.,

Well I don’t usually gamble.........got my money back plus a hundred for the win.......also a bonus of a hundred for the second goal. I don’t usually bet at all on Saints it’s just the team I drew out of the hat!! Well done the lads........I must have lost a stone listening to the game!! With our recent run top is where I would expect us to be. No reason we can’t be there or there about. It’s been a long time coming!!

 

IF, we ever get back to the grounds, especially away, that should be our end of season fancy dress code!

 

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’re absolutely one of the top form teams since lockdown. Not blaming our crowd, but I think our players do find it easier.

I’m hoping that when Ralph said that he meant just getting over a hump - with confidence high I reckon it will be fortress St Mary’s again. Crowds only really have a negative effect when confidence is low.

Enjoying life at the top though we could be as low as 6th if teams around us won their games in hand. On the pulse side, Everton have fallen behind to United at the half so we’re still top for now.

It's too early to say what are good results for us come the end of the season, but, as I don't expect us to win the league, I'll settle for being top for a little longer.

 

I do expect us to win the league. And the FA Cup. Anything less just won’t be good enough.
