I think the intensity of the training is the reason. We haven't played our best side yet.

Maybe Thomas Sandgaard's super new equipment will improve things.

Personally I wouldn’t risk Marcus Maddison tomorrow in the Cup friendly. We have far bigger fish to fry. The same with Pearce.
Play the junk & the kids.

    G'day ladies and gents.

To be honest this is one that you don't particularly want and I have to say neither do I. I would have thought that if there was ever a time to scrap a load of pointless cup games then this season is it. Mind you the FA Cup is way up on the "What'sitsnamethis year" Cup for the prem U23's.

I'm none too sure what sort of side Lowe will put out for this. It could be most of the normal first 11 but who knows. Lowe said he loves the FA Cup as a competition but this isn't a normal year is it. We could have done with a home tie against the Rose and Crown.

I hear our next league fixture against Rochdale at the Valley has been postponed, as we have players out on International duties.
That means Gillingham away is out next game, on November 21st (14 days away).

Since this news does not affect fans' traveling plans anymore I didn't think it was important enough to deserve its own thread.

(Of course, we are playing Leyton Orient in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday 10th November)

Hi, Greeny. Bowyer will almost certainly put out a second or third string team today. We've been playing two games a week, and he'll be giving them a break. It'll be a good chance to see the reserves. Same happened last year against WBA.

I think we'll put out a stronger team today than we do on Tuesday for the pointless EFL Trophy.
It's got to be a complete squad & kids XI against Orient.

We shouldn’t even have domestic Cup competitions this season IMO. How many regular fans give a toss about them, especially when we can’t get in to watch the games?

At least we don't have to worry about replays.
Anyone else watching the live stream?

My son and grandson have been ST holders down the Valley for awhile now.....I tried to bring my son up right and proper.....but I must of gone wrong somewhere.....

It's probably my fault...I used to bring him down the Valley when he was 9 or 10 with one of his mates.....although they used to get bored before H/T and used to be more interested in running up and down the big bank....so that would have been just about 1980ish.

Been an Argyle supporter for at least 70 years and can remember watching Argyle here for a long time....plus Millwall (sorry) and taking their 59 unbeaten home run league record away from them....what an ugly place to get away from Cold Blow Lane.

Always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere down the Valley.

Ryan Lowe our boss is still trying to find the best blend of players this season....Covid hasn't helped....we've had defenders go down with it....especially our visit to Lincoln...lost defenders at 3.30pm the afternoon of the match...but still had to play and lost 2-0 like you did.

We like playing out from the back and can be quite attractive to watch going forward.....but our defence can switch off at times...but maybe that can be expected with some of them being young.

At the moment we're a fortress at home... only dropping two points with one game drawn.....but haven't got our act together away from Home Park as yet...defence not being solid enough.

Lowe will maybe jiggle a few players around...but it isn't his nature to drop players....the FA Cup needs respecting and is one of the few ways at the moment of earning extra money.

Ben Reeves might get a start today....I was at Wembley when you beat Sunderland and he didn't get on that day.....Nice to see our old player Purrington scored for you recently....just like he did at Wembley.

The strength of our defence will be the key factor this afternoon....it might not be good enough with players still getting over Covid time out for the virus or having too self-isolate.

This would have been a good family day out...but at the moment we cannot even watch the game around the same damn telly ?

Wish you all well down the Valley.....well from Sunday onward of course.

Excellent post, @Plymborn this Forum seems to be lacking in good Football, Charlton posts. Too many threads on Politics, Coronavirus etc. Just my personal view, but this Forum would be better without a certain @Sandman

Why don't you do a poll Dick? I'm up for that.

ps. I didn't start the threads you are complaining about, so a bit of a silly statement.

LLLB says in his presser that his main priority is that no-one gets injured, so his usual <grr> pre-match pep talk might not be as inspiring as usual<peacedove>.

I know what LLB stands for. What does the extra L mean? Lovely? Lairy? Loquacious?
