I never said he was the answer, I'd of preferred him given a go. Nobody knows the answer. Good managers fail. It's a funny old game as Greavsie Used to say
No, you didn’t. That was my choice of words based on the board ****fest over him at the moment that I just don’t get. And I have to say it as my inside grammar police is telling me to and it’s one of my pet peeves. It’s would/should/could/I’d have, not of. Sorry.
Based on Wiki stats (which could well be wrong), Nigel Clough has a career win percentage of slightly more than 36%. Simon Grayson's is 41%. Apart from his name, he's never done anything to make me think he'd be a good manager at SAFC. He did nothing at Derby or Sheff Utd, so why would here?
I find it amazing the clamour for Clough. He has done nothing of note anywhere, is not particularly known for a distinct brand of football or tactical knowledge. He is at Mansfield Town and that tells you everything about where he is as a manager. What we need is someone either: - incredibly experienced and a proven winner (hard to come by and unlikely in this league) - someone young, but with bright ideas and a clear plan with maybe someone experienced to support (fans would need to be patient) - or a foreign manager (dreaming of someone like Bielsa at leeds)
Going on the name/reputation even his Dad didn't do brilliant when he didn't have Peter Taylor with him.
We won’t be promoted with him here, he doesn’t learn. Our fans have been crying out for Dan Neil to get a game since pre season and he puts him on the bench against ****ing Mansfield. He’s a stubborn tosser, can’t stand the ****ing sight of him.
Phil Parkinson’s shocking cup record at Sunderland Since Phil Parkinson was appointed as manager of Sunderland, he has overseen our two all-time worst FA Cup exits, losing in the first round to both Gillingham and Mansfield. In addition to this, Parkinson suffered embarrassing defeats to Scunthorpe and Leicester Under-21s last season in the EFL Trophy. Overall, in the nine cup matches Parkinson has managed Sunderland have won just two, a frustrating record when you consider his predecessor Jack Ross knocked out Premier League sides Burnley and Sheffield United, as well as achieving a cup final run in the EFL Trophy. https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...erland-0-1-mansfield-struggling-for-positives
