Cloughie snapped up.... https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...tment-set-alter-sunderlands-fa-cup-challenge/
... at Mansfield. "SUNDERLAND are set to face a Mansfield Town side under the new management of Nigel Clough when they enter the FA Cup at the first-round stage on Saturday."
Why would Nigel Clough be considered a good manager at Sunderland? His entire managerial career has been lower league. So why does anyone think he would suddenly become a managerial superstar for us?
I'm jumping on this completely. Seems like a decent bloke, obviously got a great name but I would have no interest if it was up to me.
He's done decent in lower league. That's where we are at now too unfortunately. When we had Larry Grayson ffs I'd of much rather seen Cloughie given a go.
And when we had Grayson we were in our first season back in the Championship. He was never the manager for us and I said that on day one. But Clough was never the answer then and he’s not now either.
