I work in heavy construction for the supply of ready mixed concrete, for a company that also supplies aggregates, cement and asphalt.
Without us working, the roads could not be repaired, hospitals could not be built. From major infrastructures HS2 and Hinkley down to houses being built.
The list of tradesman, office workers, cleaners, road sweepers. All purchase from the local shops. Then you’ve got the suppliers that go into these buildings. You will be surprised what construction brings to areas along with dirty roads and lorry’s everywhere.
If construction stops, the chain stops and that’s when we hit recessions. My late dad said we seem to the start of recessions and then lead us out of recessions. And he’s right, I knew something was brewing in 2008 when the amount of specifications I was vetting was dropping and complaints I was attending was increasing as companies was reigning money back in.
And that is why Boris and co wanted in my opinion construction to carry on.

I get that ROD, essential construction and the suppliers required should be allowed as should anything essential.

I have it on very good authority that this rave was well within the public domain early last week, even people here in Dorset were aware of it.

We know of someone who went to it. Don't get me wrong for the kids I bet something like that is bloody exciting but not in the middle of a pandemic for god's sake.

totally can see that … a builder near to me had to stop for 2 reasons! a month or so ago … no plaster and no roof tiles … a common design although others were available. He managed to keep working as he had other jobs lined up and the customers rather than wait till around now for work to start were happy to for groundwork and foundations to be done. Although as he said... they were happy and un happy … happy it was done in dry weather ...unhappy they had to put up with "working around" the groundwork etc for 2 or 3 extra months!

My granddaughters partner is a brick layer and work has stopped on a site at Swindon, they cannot get any mortar delivered, he is self employed, luckily he has a few foreigners to tied him over.

Don't know if it's true but just read this.

'We've closed all of Cornwall down for three people in hospital': Healthcare assistant who publicly resigned claiming she had 'no work for three weeks' at peak of the pandemic says claim the NHS is overrun is 'all lies'

Who knows the real truth. Unless you're someone like Cliftonville and are able to observe what's going on first or second hand, even if only through other healthcare professionals.

My mum works at Southmead, I've been told they're on the brink of declaring their highest tier of emergency. Not sure how it works or what it entails, but certainly, some nurses in some places are seeing someone die every day. Of course that will be the norm for some types...

It's probably regional. Cornwall is not as populated as other parts of the UK, so Jiffie's source may be telling the truth - for Cornwall. The infection isn't spread evenly about the country, so the strain on the different hospitals will vary region to region - with the bigger university cities being hit hardest.

When they showed the heat map of England on Saturday you could see Cornwall looked virtually unaffected by it.

somewhere here is a parish map that gives "known" numbers in them....
My friend who works in DORSET had a warning come up on his phone yesterday to isolate for 14 days ...has already , back before WSM hospital shut, had virus, as has his xyl! DOES NOT TELL YOU WHO... but other details allowed him to pin point rough time and place ..we were on zoom so didn't give to many details ….
longleat is putting cheddar caves up for sale.. not sure whether will sell carparking up the gorge but shops and café and the old mill hotel part of the deal probably get the lot for a £million more with parking!

Are you seriously saying the entire planet faked a virus just to get Biden into the job? <laugh> Or am I misinterpreting?

In other news that will probably please some <laugh>, 2 of my housemates have tested positive, my girlfriend (only other housemate) also showing symptoms which means I almost certainly have it too.. it's going to be a fun 2 weeks!

I knew you'd be the first to bite!! Did I say it was a fake virus?
Just putting out there mate.....but I'm keeping my eyes & mind open on it all.......don't trust any of it if i'm honest......I would not rule out any type of setup in this world..
I'm sure most people are happy with what they read and what they're told....I like to keep a very open mind..
Remember when we were told that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction?.......I imagine, most people believed it, Crazy person if you didn't, especially with all the deaths that encountered... WOW.....They wouldn't would they!!!

Many people will test positive as more testing done and when we get this instant testing, there will be even more.
The amount of people testing positive and not showing any symptoms will be more than those that fall ill from it.

I had a test today, if you’ve not had your nose swabbed yet. It’s no where near as bad as some make it out.

I do have a big nose, so that may of helped.
