My memory of last year’s game is that we didn’t turn up. Expecting a better performance this time, and our first win against them since April 2016. I thought our record against them was better than that, tbh, but 4 losses and 2 draws in the last 6 meetings show that they have the edge in recent times.

How can anyone not remember Léandre Griffit? Exciting player who never quite made it at Saints. We must have had a huge influence on his career though because he remains a big Saints fan to this day always tweeting on Saints results with genuine pleasure. He was signed by Strachan but left shortly after Sturrock's arrival - initially on loan. This was one of the worst managerial periods of our history (Sturrock, Wigley, Redknapp...) and I sort of wonder with a little more stability and a good coach whether we might have seen more of him. Just to keep this 'thread related' I do like the way Ralph talks down the possibility of going top of the league - there's nothing to talk about until we are top of the league. Then we can discuss what it means.
