One note on Australia: it actually has one of the most urbanized populations in the world. Higher than the UK, much higher than France or Spain. Because like 95% of Australia's landmass is unlivable hellscape covered in poisonous monsters, the population is pretty densely clustered. About two-thirds of the population is concentrated in five cities. Same with Canada, only replace "covered in poisonous monsters" with "rocky, freezing forest".
Think it probably was necessary. From a personal point of view i much prefer working from home and so far my job hasnt changed at all (if anything it’s busier). I also have the emotional range of a toaster so barely understand what mental health is let alone be affected by it so am fine on that front. Not being able to go to the gym or pub is **** but it is what it is
