He likes the sound of his own voice for sure, but does and has called it right many times. I don't think his opinion will have much bearing on anything, just another hacks beef with politicians, as if they invented Covid. Worldwide there are hundreds of politicians who's careers have been tarnished / finished by Covid, Wrong place, wrong time. The only way to deal with chaos is to embrace it.

Seems the tier system has worked pretty well, the problem areas are doing ok. It's reckoned the R rate will be below 1 by the end of the week, though some ITK are saying it's already under 1.

    Still that's good news.

Edit: The North East R rate has just been announced as 0.8 London 0.9

This latest one in Austria had been flagged as a potential terrorist but been allowed to roam free.

How many do we have in this country who have been similarly flagged? A lot of outrages are perpetrated by newcomers, but a good many are also down to people born and raised here.

Thousands have ben allowed in this year alone, any number of whom could be potential terrorists.

Meanwhile, at beaches near to me ...

No less than 28 Charlton fans on various forums said they wanted or supported the physical demise of RD. When we decide that someone is evil without knowing the person concerned, that's the roots of terrorism. Add to that the mass jerking off to the possibility of Elliot getting a kicking and you'll get an ideal of how humanity can so easily go wrong.

No it's not, and I'm surprised that nobody has called the police. Dry cleaning clothes must carry a greater sentence than taking your mother home.

Full marks to Boris Johnson for standing up to the right-wing tabloid press and bringing in lockdown.

Didn’t notice much difference on the roads this morning ,not sure if people are ignoring the lockdown? But for the youngsters who are carrying on partying let’s hope they come down hard on the little scrotes!

Went for a walk in the local park, the surrounding roads were empty on the last lockdown, not know.
On the spot fines and a greater police control may help.

Depends if it counts as a Launderette Elfs.
Launderettes are on the exempt list - they can stay open.

Schools are still open, so a fair amount of school-run traffic is still out there clogging up the roads mornings & evenings.

Aha, this place did not have launderette facilities in the old fashioned way. However, a launderette being exempt I cannot agree with.
    I'd clean the (shabby)clothing of the @Appalling Rug <laugh>

To be fair to the anti lockdown brigade, they just want to save excess deaths. Both points of view are valid.

I wouldn't be surprised if The Sun allies itself to Nigel Farage at some point - albeit a loose alliance.
They both lean towards individual freedoms over collective responsibility.
My views on that balance tend to differ depending on the specific issue.

The presenters on talk radio are saying London is busier than ever, so surely some people staying home won't make much difference. I don't agree with lockdowns, but if we have to have them, the only way is to be more severe and close the borders...nobody in or out. No bubbles and zero contact with care homes.

I think myself that Universities and schools should close.
The desired effect of lockdown - reducing the R number as quickly as possible - is much diluted by not doing those things.

Right now we have a kind of 'lockdown-lite'.
    Might work, might not.

Everywhere you are on public transport you are reading signs warning of fines for not wearing face coverings.
It is now a f****** joke, more and more ignorant c**** are not adhering to the request.
The ticket barrier on the Victoria line tube had 3 staff chatting away to each other and playing with their phones! Whilst this was going on more ignorant c**** were walking through the barriers spreading their germs.
