Rubbish enough to beat Everton Rubbish enough to sit back and sting us on the break like last season home game Rubbish enough to go 4th in the table if they beat us They have one player who always seems to cause us problems; Saint Maxim.... who should have signed for us with that name.
Newcastle are becoming the new Burnley for us, as in they’re a team we can’t seem to beat (obviously we did finally win at Burnley this season). In our last six games against the Toon we’ve not won once. It’s only one win in the last 8 and that was in 2016. Considering we have two key injuries and a stretched squad, a win would be pretty impressive. Newcastle will be hard to break down even with a full team. Seeing as Vokins trained, he starts for me. McCarthy KWP, Bed, Vest, Vokins Armstrong, JWP, Romeu, Redmond Adams, Walcott
Vokins not fit says the manager. "To be honest in the left back position I have a bigger issue because Jake Vokins is injured so I have more to think about what to do there as my normal left backs are out." From the club site.
For me we shouldn’t move those playing well in their normal position (like KWP and JWP) to put elsewhere. Keep the team as they have been playing well and bring in someone from the squad to play in the gap. LB seems the big issue and I really don’t want to see a complete dogs diner of swop round, who has replaced Vokins in the BTeam or Give Valery a week of training in the position as a last result
Fit as a butchers dog on delivery day. Post edited and Vokins added to the dictionary. Well done, have a on the merit board for your eagle eyed proof reading.
We could go with Walcott, Adams, Long & Obafemi in a four? Makes us a little more compact if they catch us on the break then.
It's ironic LB is our problem area considering it seems to be our best position with regards to bringing people through the Academy. I'm with those who say we should leave the team as unchanged as possible and make do at LB. Maybe Valery or Salisu, really not a Stephens fan.
If he trained yesterday, I would imagine he's fit enough to start? Maybe Ralph is trying to lull Newcastle into thinking we have no left backs fit. I can't imagine he's too unfit in terms of being able to last the game, but if he cant, the only options I'd be keen on are Salisu/Stephens/Valery. I wouldn't take KWP or JWP out of their main positions. Then again I've never managed a game of football in my life so what do I know
I'll accept whatever XI Ralph puts out, he has earned my full trust since the first lockdown. I'm quite looking forward to what he comes up with actually.
