Good Morning. It's Thursday 5th November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

Andrea Radrizzani prepared if Bielsa left next Summer.

Leeds Owner Andrea Radrizzani is prepared to lose the services of Marcelo Bielsa next Summer as he believes Leeds can thrive without Bielsa because of the club’s transformation under him.

The Italian businessman also made it abundantly clear that he hoped the Argentine would continue in his role for years to come:-

“I hope he can stay with us for a long time. But we like to decide year by year because, obviously, he’s not a young manager, he’s 65 and his family, his wife is often in Argentina.

“Hopefully, he can stay longer — 60 is the new 40 these days! “If not, I think what he’s building is the foundation for a proper club.

“He has put in the foundations for the future without him. “I say that really convinced of his job, because it’s not only what you can see every game but what he has done in terms of changing the facilities, the work ethic — they really reflect what I wanted to do in the club.” Bielsa is idolised in Leeds having led them back to the top flight for the first time in 16 years at the second time of asking.

“It was a discussion in the car with Victor. “It was a difficult season so I wanted to have a leader, a charismatic coach who could change the culture.

“Victor said ‘I think Marcelo Bielsa would be amazing, but it’s impossible’ . . . when someone says something is impossible I want it more. “So I said ‘Call him now’. And then he didn’t pick up but Victor left him a message.

“By the time he spoke to him the next day, Marcelo had already watched ten games, already knew the players.

"Then we flew to Buenos Aires and we spent ten hours in a room learning from him, while he was already clear in his mind what to do and change.”

    Leeds need more attacking options

Noel Whelan is suggesting that Summer signing Joe Gelhardt should be promoted to the first-team squad following his performances for the U23's.

The 18yo has been impressive form since his arrival at Elland Road from cash strapped Wigan Athletic and has quickly made an impression behind the scenes for the Whites.

Whelan believes that a striking option is needed on the bench and has named Gelhardt as the ideal man for the job.

“The kid has got talent and if you are good enough, you are old enough. It is as simple as that," he told Football Insider.

“He is excelling for the 23s and we do not have an out-and-out striking option on the bench so I would love to see him being integrated into that squad now. I think he is ready, I really do. There is no point in progressing him in the under-23s any longer quite frankly. He is flying there.

"We do not have another out-and-out striker and he can be another option off the bench. You have got to look at that because we are not blessed with a million and one strikers at the football club. “We need to give Patrick Bamford a little bit of help. Give the young man a chance.”

Are Leeds light on attacking options?

Do they need another striker in January?

It will be a horrendously sad day when Marcelo does pack his bags for a return to Argentina

Morning all. I was saying same about Gelhardt the other day. He's already well ahead of Roberts in my opinion. Word of caution re Rodgrigo testing positive. Shamrock Rovers player Jack Byrne was interviewed this morning and asked about his bout of Covid. He said it was really tough and had to ease himself back into training. Still only able to come on as a sub several weeks after. Hopefully Rodrigo doesn't have same after effects or we mightn't see much of him for a few weeks

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

When Bielsa goes we will have prior warning because hes that sort of man. Once he gives us a sign that he will be leaving I believe the wheels will start turning in the background. Bielsa, Orta and Radz sat down over the lockdown period and compiled a list of replacements. Bielsa was key to this list and he added names and then said yes or no to others. I believe its a list of top echelon candidates who can work with Bielsas foundations and his ethos. Someone who will not tear up everything but would add to what Bielsa has started. That also means someone who will get results on the field with what he has rather than crying for big money to sign superstars.

I would also add to my post above:

A coach not a media type. We saw what happened when DoL took his tracksuit off and put a suit on. We want a coach who takes charge of everything at TA, not a Jose’ type who likes the media and wants nothing to do with the academy

I think it's important to have someone who carries on the exact system and exact same way of playing.

That's why I'd go for Corberan, even though he's inexperienced. Not setting the world alight yet at Huddersfield but early days and they're still learning the system.

Maybe add Hernandez and Berardi to his coaching staff.

Hernandez will be gone in January if he continues his tantrums. Remember how quick Pontus was evicted?

Found out something I didnt know yesterday ( I know crazy) before we signed Rodrigo Bielsa asked Orta to check out Lucas Alario. Alario played in Argentina for River Plater and scored 22 goals in 40 games. Bayer Leverkusen paid €24m for him in 2017 and he has scored 79 goals for them and has scored 5 so far this season. The only reason this has come to light is because if an interview Alario gave to Argentine magazine. No official bid made but discussions with his agent and the club. Alario said he was intrigued that Bielsa thought so highly of him and hinted at playing under him.

I only say this because we found out about the likes of Cabral and David but no hint on Alario. We also had Bielsa last week say Roberts is the back-up striker? Does this mean Rodrigo was bought as a replacement for Pablo?

it does however prove that Bielsa was looking for a striker to challenge Bamford so I wonder if January sees us go out for a striker, not a Pablo replacement. Alario scores goals even for Argentina

Don't see it at all, being upset at being taken off is a good thing, refusing to do as you're told is totally different.

I understand being upset about being taken off and I know the argument that he's showing passion and how much he cares, but I don't like seeing that behaviour. Douglas did it before and that wound me up as well. To me it showed a lack of respect to Bielsa. But I guess as supporters each to their own.<ok>

Radz admits to talking to potential investors and to speaking to some who have been friend's for many years. So in reality he has spoken to the 49ers and QSI as he has been a partner and very close friend to the billionaire Arabs. Something will happen very soon that leaves Radz in charge.....

Rodrigo said on camera that he was sorry to miss the Leicester game and would miss the Palace game too. He said someone infected a family member so family all locked down. They are all well and have no symptoms and he keeping fit
