Definitely. And I don't just mean Salisu to be honest. Anyone with a left foot is an option. Being without key players is bad enough. I'm really, really against us messing around with our remaining key players. Trying to plug leaks in some places, whilst creating them in others.
Has anyone suggested Stephens at RB if KWP can play on the left? Or, alternatively Stephens at left back with Redmond back in front of him for the cover he gives? The fewer changes the better.
And who partners Che? We need to keep changes to a minimum. Keep JWP in the middle. Keep KWP on the right where he's most effective. Theo up front with Che and someone to fill in at LB. Don't want to mess around with a winning team more than you have to.
Long or Obafemi. Changes to a minimum, fair play, but you suggest playing an a debutant, just back from injury, out of position.
Yes because he's left footed, athletic, and a good defender. I'm not saying he's going to be as effective as Bertrand but it's better than having a RB at LB and a CM at RB IMO.
It's got to be Walcott up front for me. He can play there and he's not bad. Long will run around all day, while Obefami seems out of favour. Walcott would bring Che into the game and be a threat himself. Whoever plays left back will need Redmond doing his cover duties so that this board can be full of "What was Redmond doing?" comments!
Ralph's actual team line up should be fascinating on Friday, can't wait to see the endless arguments about it... He has form for putting players out of position at LB, even JWP last time!.
https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/...mpton-newcastle-united-premier-league-2020-21 Vokins & Bednarek trained today. Along with a number of the B team by the looks of it.
We could also play 3-2-5 and pin then back... Circa 1961 football Alex Vesty Beddy Salisu or Jack JWP. Oriel Redders. Long. Che. Theo. Djenepo I’m going for a 8-5 win
Can’t believe the Ralph will want to tinker too much with a team and system that he’s got working so well With Theo in for Danny the front 6 picks itself With the mighty Vestergard and indestructible Beddy central defence is in good shape (as long as they have JWP and Oriel protecting them Just a decision on full backs. Gutted Vokins is injured I was looking forward to seeing him again. So a selection from KWP Valery and Stephens. Valery hasn’t had a start in the new improved Saints yet so he may be an option
