well that was piss easy. sorry but Jones actually had space today. hes had chances recently but bossed out of it so that what happens when a lad with talent is given so much space. judge when he doesnt have such space. we were absolutely walking it, so easy. I think we played maribor and spartak 3 years ago and it was absolutely easy like this. this group is not absolutely over. ajax have won so its a 5 point lead over them and atalanta so even a draw at home in the next game means we are though with 2 to go. on this evidence itd be a monumental blunder to lose to this lost. they were walked through.
Great win though a more accurate reflection would probably be 7-2 . The best bit was a comfortable win with Jota hat trick , Rhys Williams proper first team start , Jones an improved 90 and some game time for Keita ,Tsimikas and Neco Williams . PS not seen enough of Tsimikas to rate his defensive ability but from the bits we have seen he whips in some cracking balls .
3 points against Mittylnd (sp) and we're through. CL effectively put to bed in early November, and just when we needed too. Even I can't moan at that.
TalkSPORT really bigging us up for season Proper drilling city and pep That’s us screwed Sunday then
If we get 3 against Atalanta in 3 weeks time, the next group game, then we can play some of the youngsters for the final two games.
That's the two (theoretically) most difficult games of the group out of the way. Let's just hope they don't exact a sort of Montezuma's Revenge and give us a nice dose of covid to bring home with us.
Much ****ing better. And Bobby needs to step it up, shouldn't be starting against Man City now imo. He wasn't even great after coming in (he did work hard though)
I don't know what Montezuma's Revenge is but there's a song I love called The Palaces of Montezuma. Please explain?
Shout out to Williams... When he came on for Fabinho a couple of games ago, he looked very nervous and shaky (understandably) but grew into the game. Tonight he looked right at home; won headers/tackles passed well and made sure he was an option, he seemed very happy in possession and as the last man. Anyone that didn't know better could have easily mistaken him for the more experienced of the two CBs!
Oh, I know Jota was great and got a hat-trick but I'd give the MOTM to Curtis Jones, he was superb tonight.
