Jason Perry never stops talking about where Cardiff City are going wrong....always drops his ‘H’s’ but tells a good story! He was a tough lower league trier who gave it all with little skill as Masky recalls!
Everything seemed to slot into place tonight. Barnsley were rank but we made them look so thanks to better endeavour and closing down and reclaiming possession and not giving it away much plus allowing our full backs to get up the flanks. Moore was awesome. Bennett,Hoilett and Ralls impressed. Not a bad word to say except it could have been 6! City!
Thought Hoilett had his best game for ages both in attack and defence. Bennett back to his best too. That ball from Ralls to Wilson was magic. The boys done well, fair play.
Goal 3 was superb football. We need Wilson in the game more. Play him in the 10 role. Hoillet man of the match. Caution though. Barnsley were one of the worst sides ive seen in years.
Wilson in the side is a no brainer for every game as long as he's fit, but it wasn't all about him. As a team, we were as good last night as we were bad at QPR on Saturday - Hoilett was transformed. Barnsley were poor, but have to say against QPR, we were one of the worst sides I've seen in years.
Had time to reflect and been thinking about this "poor" Barnsley side we've just thrashed. Can't say I've paid much attention to their results, but looking back at their previous two games under their new manager makes me doubt that we're giving City enough credit. They thrashed QPR 3-0 last week - a side we struggled against and then lost to last time out, and beat a very good Watford side 1-0. Just before that, they had two away games and drew on the road with both Millwall and Stoke - that's not poor form. Maybe they are poor overall and had a poor game against us, but just maybe we were that good last night that the opposition could have been anyone in this division and the result would have been much the same? Also don't want to paint an over-rosy picture, but there's no doubt when we (Harris and players) get it right, we can climb out of this dark spot we've created for ourselves.
Why does Harris want to be able to use 5 subs. He doesnt use 3 often and if he does they get a couple minutes. Thats not going to save on burn out! https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-boss-neil-harris-19218324
Agree about his late substitutions. Mark Harris hardly had time to dampen his boots before the final whistle at QPR. I believe the rule was 5 subs but only at 3 intervals which means he needs to put at least 2 on at the same time. Better start considering that at half time not with a few minutes to go if the reason behind it is to save legs.
They certainly deserve credit and have got it but LBH Barnsley were terrible. As for their previous fixtures they won - QPR were down to 10 men at 0-0 after 26 minutes and the only goal v Watford was a ‘worldy’
