Haha. Just think back of all the articles that were posted about how much we wanted Gervinho lol. Now it looks like he is cack! Along with Ruiz who we apparently wanted and Scot Dann at Blackburn who I thought would have been a good signing

Wasn't there something funny that Badger said about him coming to us too?

think our biggest test will be the game after a defeat to see how the lads respond (as long as the doom and gloom ****ers don't moan about the defeat as well, not like we're going to do a arsenal and go the season unbeaten)

Agree that 10th is realistic and would be fine, but while I can I'm going to dream of 7th and Thursday night, second rate European football

And why not? We aren't where we are because we're playing bad football. We're playing some good stuff and can do the top 7 quite easily.

i said 9th at the start of the season and would be happy with that but there is no reason why 7th is beyond us (current form but we're bound to have a dip)

Gervinho isn't as good as I thought he would be. He has very little end product. He is very good at dribbling and taking on players. He is like Jonas.

IMO, I want to win a cup. I would rather we finished 11th and won the League Cup than finish 7th and not win anything. 7th isn't a guaranteed European spot. It only is if a team in the top 4 wins both cups.

I can see us getting all the way to the League Cup final and then losing, making it the worst birthday ever.

Sorry to spoil the party but I think you have to actually win the league cup to qualify for the europa league.

At the start of the season I have to say I wasnt happy with our signing of so many foreign players and wanted to see players with Prem experience brought in.

Seven games in those players have proven me wrong, they have settled in well, gelled with our established players and we are riding high in 4th in the league.

Like most Toon fans I'm not getting carried away and know there are teams with stronger squads than ours, but credit to the lads we are playing some nice football, team spirit looks good and strikers scoring goals, what more could we ask for.

Agree that 7th isn't beyond us. The top 6 will be obviously Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal but after that it could go to anybody. Everton don't look great atm, Fulham aren't great either, Stoke away from home will let them down and Sunderland are poopy

Liverpool and Arsenal aren't exactly setting the world alight though.

No but come the end of the season they will be. Liverpool will start gelling together more and will be better if they keep on playing Kuyt over Henderson

Agree about Arsenal, can still see them finishing 6th

It's shocking they continue to have Kuyt riding the pine (he did get the start Saturday though), but shhh nobody tell Kenny!

I hate Kuyt but he is a great player, very hard working and scored in the big games
