The second half. We tried to win. And we did. This defensive Rafa love **** that Bruce is trying at the beginning of games is not good: we have the players to play from the first minute. I don’t get the negative start and 12 men behind the ball crap. Ole is doing it for manu and he’s getting the sack because he hasn’t got a clue. There is no way ole is the manager for manu. But again he’s a manu ex player who gets a free pass.
Lascelles was a 6/10 tops. He can only really play this system but with rafa gone his confidence is shot.
Yet another Steve Bruce managerial masterclass. How many times does this tactical genius have to prove himself? Getting beyond a joke.
Thought Lascelles had a solid game. Agree with The #CansMaster that he is too slow moving the ball forward but thought the defence played pretty well. Much prefer us with 5 at the back - good to see Schar getting his confidence back. Think the two full backs are starting to settle in. Lewis still has a few **** balls in him but he is a genuine left back and not someone we are trying to shoehorn in there. Midfield looked more solid as well. Like Longstaff in there because he does the simple things well and quickly and he gets us further up the pitch than Hayden and Shelvey. I hope that Almiron has won his place back now - this contain and break quickly tactic only works if him and St Maximin are on their games. Trust Almiron far more than St Maximin as he is much more aware of what is going on around him and much less likely to lose the ball in stupid positions. That move in the first half started by Almiron on the edge of his own penalty area was one of the best I have seen from any team this season. Who needs more than 30% possession if you can do that when you do have the ball.
Think he has a bit of an inferiority complex. Apparently when he was a kid a kid his mum used to leave him at home and take his identical twin Juan out when she went shopping. Someone asked her why and she replied - once you've seen Juan you've seen Jamal .....
Bruce plays with the team like he's got a control pad on the touchline. He likes to get a goal and then defend.. Its on on on off throughout games a bit too much fur my liking.. Just let then play and kill the game before messing around.. It's hard to criticise because we've hit points though, so it might actually be that he's right and we're wrong. I've been in Bruce's arse this season, but credit where credits due we're doing well and I think at times even when things go well, we jump to criticising the style of play or the opposition.. I think yesterday we played pretty well and that's all that anyone should be saying.
