Looked very bad didn't it.. That's a real season ruiner if he's out for any length. Che has been playing well put Danny is completely irreplaceable
I'm not an expert but he seemed to be walking ok at the final whistle and he stayed on the bench. I'm hopeful he may just miss the Newcastle game plus the international break.
Us winning today didn't surprise me (I'm still delighted, mind). But Friday night will be the real test of how we've come. Exactly the sort of game we've not been winning since Koeman. But right now, my only focus is on Danny. If we can get away with it being a maximum three weeks out (ie so that he only misses Friday night), I'll take that and run. But my fear is that we're looking at much longer.
That's my thinking. I guess the only thing is that if his knee is swollen he has to wait for a scan anyway.
Fair play to Ralph for going with Theo over Redmond. I wasn't sure if he would. But that's along the lines of why I wanted to see Theo given a go there. Ran inside, was getting into a shooting position on his favoured foot, and Luiz decided he had to take action in order to prevent that. Step forward JWP.
I don’t understand why the VAR look at the penalty didn’t show it from different angles. The only one I saw had Grealish’s body blocking any view of the “foul”, pretty much the same view the ref had. Diallo definitely pulled his foot back, and as I said earlier, it looked as if had he made any contact it would have been with Grealish’s side, and not the leg he was holding. An angle from behind the goal would clear that up.
If no Ings on Friday, Walcott up top with Adams would be my preference. Not sure Shane Long would agree.
I would have assumed that if it was obviously bad, then the leg would have been immobilised. Eat your heart out Dr Kildare.
