I firmly believe once we get through the worst of this he will be hung out to dry as their scapegoat for this and Brexit and they’ll say ‘yeah we’ve changed it’.

Have you considered that your Guinea pig may either have it or be pretending to have it so you have to stay in with him?

Well, it’s either that or absolute bullshit propaganda that they keep sending me them.

Funny thing is, last Thursday when I was sat in a beer garden for several hours I didn’t get a thing. Sat in my gaff (which by the way is a 4th floor apartment 60ft above ground level...) I’m in almost constant contact with it.

    Absolute bullshit.

Could the posts not be originating from someone who tested positive in the beer garden and it has took this time to filter through?

I had that idea of course but why have 19 of them? Also it’s supposed to tell you if you’ve been in contact with someone confirmed positive to tell you to isolate and it hasn’t done that.

Whichever way you look at it, it’s another failure. You go into the app after you get one and there’s no information, advice or recommendations.

I've never been too interested in politics and have always just kept my fingers crossed that whichever government would generally try to look after us all.

But I don't feel comfortable with this one, they seem to have no shame. I watch BBC News, every morning, to try to guage how things are in the UK.

There's usually a government minister being interviewed and you'd think they'd know a lot of worried people are watching, hoping for information and guidance.

Instead you can see they're deliberately talking down the clock and avoiding uncomfortable questions. Their answers bear no relation to the questions and you can see they're treating it all as a big game.

The BBC interviewers don't seem to want to upset them so very little is actually said. I don't want a slanging match, just honest information. I've never felt so little trust in my own government and, having lived through pit closures, etc, that's quite sad.

The government have threatened the BBC with funding cuts so have them by the short and curlies. Democracy is down the pan in both the UK and America regarding government controlling large swathes of the media.

FFS, here we go again ... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-54716993

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a second national lockdown until at least the end of November ... under the new measures, starting on Friday, people would only be allowed to leave home for essential work or medical reasons. Non-essential businesses, such as restaurants and bars, will close.

After today we have to fill in a form to leave the house and the restaurants will close.

Looking back to the start of this thread there was a lot of humour and 'Dunkirk spirit' ...

... that's gone now and people are frustrated, confused and, mainly, worried about jobs, health and mental health.

We'll go to our village restaurant for lunch but mainly to say au revoir ...

... sadly I think it'll be the end for them.

With the lack of tourists there's been times when we've been the only customers, can't see it opening again.

"There are two new cases of coronavirus in New Zealand, both in managed isolation.

It marks nine days without any community cases in the country."
