Didn’t really tell us much did it? A Usyk points win, and he didn’t dominate. Struggling to see how he makes his mark on this division.
Chisora did really well there, Usyk proved he can take a shot from a big heavyweight but also showed he’s not got the power to bowl over men of that size with a solid chin. He isn’t going to be able to outbox all of the elite of this division over 12 rounds, as you also need to be able to knock these fellas out, as they can end these bouts with one shot.
I looked at Usyk on points but the odds were **** so went for a late stoppage. The fight pretty much panned out as expected, Chisora came out teeing off and Usyk slowly came into the fight and started to dominate. Fair play to Chisora, he gassed early but his stamina held out. UFC on BT Sport if anybody interested. Uriah Hall against Anderson Silva will be starting in about an hour.
If I was Dubois I’d be asking to make the Usyk fight after I’d dispatched Joyce. It’d be a genuinely good test for him and one both men would get away with losing.
He's not fighting at cruiserweight, though. We are judging him at heavyweight and you said yourself he can't trouble the top guys in the division therefore by definition he goes into the mug category.
Can't believe some people knocking Fury ... he would never swerve anyone, it's a cultural thing ... I also think he is the cleverest of all of them ... ... and Joshua's no mug ... he may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he's no mug ... Dubois can bang... but right now he wouldn't beat Fury IMHO ... but a fight with Joshua would be very interesting as they can both bang.
Agree. Joyce has been hand selected fighters with better reps but clearly on their way down and out. Dubois looks the real deal from the little I've seen of him so far.
