Certainly if we didn't win every game on the way to the final they would. Then say they weren't interested the year after because we had done it once and the novelty had worn off.
Plan B was Meyer for doc with about half hour left then chucking jordi into the forward line too later on. He hardly persisted with 433 much past the hour mark. Twice the number of shots on and off target in the 90.too. Players looked tired. Their midweek off looked to have made a difference in legs as did the number of hours on a coach in the last week did for mentality. Not an excuse though. Should have won this.
Half of them would still get in this squad. PS....What does Terry's assistant..I can't even recall his name, that's how bad it is...bring to the party?
Think 90% would get in this squad. Relegated from the championship and then accepted a 50% pay cut. None of their agents were able to place them in another team. They could be a great squad but let down by the coaching team
The manager should play the younger squad who want to play and are proud to play for city. Accept they also need the experience of a captain like Smallwood and Honeyman but need to show disillusioned players from last year unless they up,their game like the rest of the City players who left without a club last season that is their future
That was a team that had just come up from Division 3 with largly the same playing staff, so there was much less expectation. This group have come down from the Championship, the expectation is that you don't play that **** against teams like Swindon.
That's basically what we've been doing, most of this squad is young, with a few older heads like Magennis, Smallwood and Eaves. Most of our squad is under 25, so it's only natural to see so many heads drop when we go behind. The job of people like Smallwood is to grab them and tell them to get a grip.
**** it, **** as it was I'm feeling quite pragmatic about this result. We've clearly all seen enough to know that we'll win more than we lose in this league, and that in itself is something to celebrate! Cheers all, sleep well.
Not even with the team that had just completed the worst run of results in Championship history? What narrative does that fit with?
interesting. No self respecting person would accept a 50% pay cut and would want to prove they were better than this, no one came in for these players from other clubs. Given their performance to date unlikely any club will come on from them in January KLP and Emmanuel the exceptions.
