Wyke had one attempt any striker would’ve been proud of (on the stretch. Commentator called it a sliding tackle shot!) but, other than that, can’t argue.

Until Flanagan popped him in his pocket you mean? He only played 45 minutes against us then disappeared!

Anyone else think Burge looked more assured after the penalty save? Maybe he needed that like Gooch needed his goal?

liked how he was so quick to get us away on the attack with his throws. Definitely his best game.

come on now i tell the truth it was a crap game, pissing down and we won 2-0 i am honest lads, what more can i say ? 3 points and top 6 great !. And Burge saves a pen ! i hope Benji is ok though. We don't have enough black/coloured players in out team though like Welbeck, Maja etc.

Not much competition!, but spot on. I wasn’t upset when McLaughlin left as, from seeing Burge last season, I though he was a capable replacement. Not inspired any confidence before yesterday’s game but I liked what I saw yesterday.

I don't agree that there's no service, apart from hoofball, to the strikers. A variety of balls came into the Gillingham box but they weren't anticipated by the front two. When Hume, etc, goes on a run they should track it and be ready to attack the delivery. I've started watching Wyke, specifically, and he's just not doing that. He gives the defender an easy time because he's one paced and too predicable. I hate to say this but he just shuffles around.

Aye, it's been pretty **** when they have been played together a few times.

Not much understanding or interplay unfortunately.

That only comes if the strikers aren't continually changed.

Imo you should usually play the same two 'strikers', tactics permitting, and have a different type of replacement on the bench.

Something needs to change that's for sure, but all is well according to the man in control, who obviously cant see the wood for the trees.

How was the O'Nien goal offside, I don't believe it.

The ball travelled 40 yards and he's running in.

Recently I noticed that O9 tends to hover goalside of the line formed on set pieces, only attempting to get back onside at the last moment. Perhaps he didn't make it back this time.
