And to correct myself, the first team now essentially has two weeks off - no game for seven days, then FA Cup and EFL Cup ties the week after. Reset needed.
3-5-2 was the answer to change the game today, but McCann would never change from 4-3-3. Should have brought Alfie Jones on for Eaves. Get the ball down and play it - we don't need a donkey to hoof it to. Emmanuel has all the attributes to play wing-back, Elder is half-decent going forwards and this puts less pressure on him defensively. KLP and Wilks are so much better when given opportunities to score down the middle. Both of KLP's two goals in two games have come from him momentarily positioning himself centrally. ----------------------Ingram-------------------- ------------Burke-A.Jones-De Wijs------- Emmanuel-H'man-S'wood-Doc-Elder --------------------Wilks---KLP---------------
Rubbish, utter rubbish. Whyever we let Kingsley go for that useless **** Elder will forever be a mystery.
Started off well. Brilliant goal from KLP. Thought we were going to stuff them. Then woeful, abysmal worse than schoolboy defending with nobody watching what was going on at a corner resulted in them equalising. After that downhill all the way with a number of poor performances. More poor defending, losing possession too often, wayward passing. All the worse because Swindon look a poor side who we made look good. Other than that, great.
I think the photo of the coaching staff on Hull Live under the banner Unacceptable sums up the lack of motivation of the players. They look despondent rather than trying to motivate.
Watched the game and have have read all these comments. Agree with all the criticisms, but also think there has been too little comment on our long ball approach. We just constantly launched it long. Our midfield may have had little impact, but the number of times any of them received a ball from a team mate was minimal to non existent. Many have said that Swindon were poor, but they passed so much better than us. I assume there was some managerial instruction to explain our inept approach. Anybody remember Docherty receiving a pass?
In 2004/5 after ten games we’d won 6 lost 3 and drawn 1!!!! does it put it into perspective a little??
How would you rate the squad of 2004/5 with Dawson, Ashby, Barmby etc and managed by Peter Taylor with this team and manager?
I would imagine the same people calling **** out of this team would be calling **** out of that team.
