Sincere question. If cases started to rise when schools went back how can a lockdown work if schools stay open?

Less sincere question. Can I go to Barnard Castle?

Lockdown sceptic Steve Baker warns public to listen 'extremely carefully' to PM
Tory MP Steve Baker, a sceptic of lockdown restrictions, warned the public and colleagues to listen “extremely carefully” to what Boris Johnson says as the Prime Minister looks set to announce a new lockdown for England.

Speaking outside No 10, Mr Baker told Sky News: “Today what I’ve had is the opportunity to take a team into Downing Street, there were three scientists, myself, a data analyst.

“We’ve had an amazing opportunity to robustly scrutinise the arguments, the data, the forecasts of where we’re going, and what I would say to people is the Prime Minister has a got very, very difficult choices to make.

“And I would encourage all members of the public, and all members of Parliament, to listen extremely carefully to what the Prime Minister says today and over the coming days.”

I am staggered that a decision has not been made to close schools and universities for the same period.

Cases were rising before schools went back. Schools being back accelerated it.

Independent SAGE have said if schools are left open, it’ll take 5-6 weeks to bring the numbers down.

No. But if you test positive you can travel on a train to Scotland. If you have a married bit on the side like Prof Ferguson, the bloke who warned about there being 500,000 deaths and the driving force behind the first lockdown, you can ignore what you told everyone else they should do and meet up to give her a good seeing to.

Lockdown until 2nd December, then the government's 'Buy to Help Out' scheme whilst families rush to get Christmas presents, dining in cafe's and pubs again, see a spike in cases in January, scientists warn government ministers of 'Third Wave', then a third lockdown soon to follow.

    Rinse and repeat.

Greece has just shut all bars , restaurants, gyms etc in some areas but schools stay open. Schools are staying open in France where there are strict new rules coming in. Same in Italy and Spain. And, of course, never shut in Sweden. Are they all getting it wr9nh?

Also, the 'antibodies disappear after a while so you can catch it twice' argument doesn't take into account that memory T cells are more important to providing long-term immunity to viruses than antibodies.
