Lisnagar Oscar can't give all that weight away can he? At the prices, it's worth paying to find out imo...

Roksana did it relatively easily in the end but the eye was drawn to Next Destination throughout. Nicholls says he is going novice chasing next - not sure if that run might make them think again?

Wholestone ..... was that a prep run for the Ascot Gold Cup? Putting any obstacles in his way is going to be risky!

    Malaya next for me

A fine front-running performance by Aye Right in this Grade 2 race, really chuffed with his performance. No doubt about the winner, but take nothing away from Mrs. Graham's charge. He'll win some nice races over the fences. Well-ridden by Callum Bewley too. <ok>

Thrilled with that. It did develop into a great race to watch and The Storyteller was very game on the run in today. Definitely taking his form over fences to a new level recently and who's to say he can't land another big one in that form - superb stuff.

Not a bad performance from Battleoverdoyen. It made up for Commanche Red, who jumped poorly and was never going well enough to get involved.

Might Bite ran well for a good portion of the race but it seems a feature of his races for some time now that he weakens and does so quite markedly as the race goes on. I know it seems desperate but I would give him one shot at 2 and a half miles and ride him aggressively to see if that helps. I can't be any worse than watching him weakening time after time at about 3 miles. Not as bad as some of his runs. Black Corton ran really well under top weight and with this under his belt he should be winning races sooner, rather than later. I felt Whatmore travelled into it like he was going to win it but once again he failed to get the job done. Old boy Regal Encore fluffed the last a bit but still had too much for the favourite on the run in.

Well done to all who got winners today.

It makes you laugh when you read these "Why they ran badly" reports. Jockey Tom Cannon told the Stewards that Commanche Red was "Never travelling" No **** Sherlock, I think we could all have worked that one out.

I think Mrs Hyde broke the 2 mile track record that day before Silver Streak came along and did the same. The ground was riding nice and fast for them day for sure.

Cheveley Park stud are beginning to build up a nice book of NH horses currently, Gordon appears to have some very high class animals at his disposal there for the ownership now.
