Impressive - but I imagine Taiwan is the most regimented, disciplined and security conscious place on the planet. Something of a very heavily armed and well connected ant, but with an elephant's foot eternally poised one inch above it's head. Coronavirus is really the least of their problems.
Not at all. Taiwan is a very nice place, with freedoms similar to our own. Taiwan is where the Nationalists fled after defeat at the hands of the communist rebels. Taiwan sees itself as the true legitimate government of China and regards the CCP as an entity temporarily in illegal control of the mainland. It was only after Nixon's initiative that the world's general agreement with this interpretation changed. Taiwan is on constant footing to prepare for invasion by China in the same way as South Korea is constantly ready to repel invasion from the north but this has little or no effect on daily living.
That was Thailand, not Taiwan ... Sorry to be pedantic, I lived most of my adult life in that region.
I bow to your experience. Must admit I went to Northern Ireland once, back in the 1980's. It was nothing like the impression we were constantly fed on TV. Perceptions built only on new reports and dramas can be very misleading.
No lockdown countries: Taiwan, Sweden, Belarus, Japan, Korea all living normally. All different cultures, climates, diets, health problems. So what do they have in common? I think I know, but why would anyone listen to me? I'm just a 74 year old man with a strange science, perfect health, the agility of a 21 year old and a perfect life. It's probably coincidence that my life, financial situation, health and personal relationships were a disaster before I discovered my science. ps. Sentiment is the enemy of logic.
I have prepared my Covid trick and treat for tomorrow. https://www.not606.com/members/dick-plumb.1006319/
Sounds like a one month lockdown from next Wednesday It’s going to be a tough one for business this time.
Crazy & ridiculous scenes in Nottingham last week. You have got to question the basic lack of intelligence of these people. They will be the same ones Tweeting “God Bless You Mum” etc when their relatives die of it. (Exactly the same thing happened earlier this year). I feel genuinely sorry for the people who have mental health problems or financial worries in life.
I feel really sorry for small businesses who have taken a real kicking this year. This lockdown will push some over the edge. My friend has just been told she is being made redundant by HSBC. She has worked there for over twenty years. She is a single parent with three kids. I feel very angry about the selfish bastards who have not observed social distancing and have carried on partying etc. With no thoughts for anybody else. After this lockdown is over will they change their ways? I doubt it.
