Ok so I've had a fair bit of time on my hands today and I did the predictions on BBC till the end of the season, and I had us finish 7th. (We were there most of the time when I was doing it)

I felt I was pretty fair with all the results to be honest. However, I haven't really done any major shock results, which I know there will definitely be in this league!! and its only my opinion so it means jack **** really, but anyways my finished league was:

    1.Man City 89
    2.Man Utd 87
    3.Chelsea 83
    4.Spurs 79
    5.Liverpool 78
    6.Arsenal 75
    7.Toon 59
    8.Stoke 57
    9.Everton 54
    10.Villa 51
    11.QPR 46
    12.Bolton 39
    13.Norwich 37
    14.WBA 36
    15.Sunderland 36
    16.Fulham 35
    17.Wolves 35
    18 Blackburn 32
    19.Swansea 31
    20. Wigan 28

When I see the finished league I ended up with I'm abit surprised. As I said I didn't put any shock results in so I doubt City, United and Chelsea will end up with 80 + points. I don't really rate Liverpool yet they're top 5, I wouldn't have expected Norwich to end up in 13th, and I honestly wouldn't have put Sunderland 15th.

Anyways to cut a long waffly useless article short; I expect a comfortable top 10 finish for the toon. Something I would have been delighted with pre-season.

  2. I don't think Bolton will finish 12th or Wigan last, but apart from that i kind of agree. Don't think Arsenal will get 75 pts but i see them finishing 6th.

Surely if you haven't put any shock results in, this is basically ordered based on how good the teams are + the points they have already...

Gap between 6th and 7th doesn't look right.

Yer I can see what your saying. I did put results in people may find surprising i.e Spurs beating Utd at WHL, Stoke, Everton beating a few of the top teams at their places etc.. but they aren't really huge shocks to me. I expect that to happen. I just didn't put the likes of Norwich going to City and winning. In hindsight I suppose i've favoured home teams alot of the time, but it's just when i see games on paper, I think christ getting a result at any away ground in the prem is bloody difficult!

To be honest mate that's one of things I do think will happen this year. I think top 5-6 will pull away from the rest in the end. Perhaps your right though, it probably won't be as much as I've put. Plus Arsenal's points tally is looking pretty generous. But I did it without looking at the final league table until I was done, so I wasn't checking constantly and it was more instinctive really

The final positions look possible, though 5under1and will finish higher than that and QPR lower. The points are a bit unrealistic in my opinion, there will be shocks but they're hard to predict in advance.

    CITEH winners!

Do you guys really think Citeh are that good? Or does the OP at least think that?

I think they're improving but they're only in the position they're in now because they're yet to face any team that will put them to the sword. Maybe on paper Spurs should have given them a better game.

Look when they've come up against anything good, Charity Shield - our youngsters ripped their galacticos a new arsehole and absolutely humiliated them.

Then Bayern took them to the cleaners just a few days ago.

Citeh haven't got it in them to win this league, (yet) they've got bottlers all over their squad and if it wasn't for Silva there'd be zero creativity in their midfield, just ego's who want the glory themselves.

Milner, Johnson, Barry, Balotelli, Lescott, Richards, Kolarov, Zabaleta, Clichy. These lot wouldn't get in the Utd starting 11 and they're all going to play a huge part in challenging for the title up until about April when it turns into a two horse race between United and Chelsea.

Citeh will finish 3rd, 2nd if Chelsea have another mare but they'll be at least 10 points off the top after match day 38.

The strenght and depth they have got in their side is unbelievable. Take Saturday for example, Tevez was left at home (as he should have been) Dzeko was left on the bench, and didn't even come on when Aguero got injured. That's **** scary levels of depth. And who's to say that if they are in a good position come January, they don't go out and spend millions again?

But to be honest I think the main reason they look so good this year is because of David Silva! This guy, in my opinion is the best player in the premier league. I know Rooney is on fire, and is quality, but if I had to pay money to go and watch one opposition player it would be Silva. the guy is a genius, and he can't even get in the spain squad ffs! My mate's a City fan, and even he is sick of me raving on about Silva.(its been over a year now) I think I need help lol

I think it will be tight but Man U will win the league for me. Happy enough with your predictions of course! Personally I predicted 11-15 for us (11th most likely) I now think after the early season bonanza we've picked up, I'm going 8th-12th now (with 9th most likely)
