And i must add the Dorus was well within his right to get the best deal he could ,he took the risk of letting his contract run down ,if he had got injured then he would have been ****ed !!

Bodde put in a transfer request because he wanted more cash elsewhere , and he used the transfer speculation to squeeze a better deal out of the swans even though he had 2 yrs left on his origional contract !!

The point is though that people will look after themselves first, are you really loyal to your employers ? If you were head hunted by a company that offered you a payrise of 100%-200% would you stay there ? Also if you have a job have you ever applied for a different job elsewhere ?

Remember football is just a job to the players and managers

bodde only played about 50 odd games in 5 seasons and even though he shone in div one we don't know for sure and we never will know if he would cope in the premiership. IMHO i think he could have made the grade but he has one of the worse injury record i have ever heard of and for that reason then he would have blown it with any other club anyway,...Its 3 years down the line without any competitive football and if that was Rooney then even he who is much younger would find it very hard to play top class football again.....Bodde should he ever play again will be no better than div 2 or non league as his fitness and stamina you need for top flight football will never be there again, not with the long time he has been out of the game. How long do you think he would last with his injury against some premiership players, I would give him half a game where he would struggle against fitter and younger players that he will get hurt again as he is to fragile. he has the passion and the commitment but after 3 years that wont be near enough for him to make an impact in premiership football

That is the point Dai, it will probably always be that case, we won't know!! Should he make a miraculous recovery, which I think we all feel obviously, is highly unlikely, nobody knows what fitness levels he could attain. Just hope beyond hope that we do get some sort of 'miracle'....

Well I've been one of the regulars who has been saying we shouldn't judge because we just don't know but this does look like the end. :(

He's certainly not injured Penlan!! Watched him score two good goals against a very good Newcastle reserve side last week. He will feature, was on the bench as usual yesterday, but maybe the anticipated intensity of how the game would game would pan-out against Stoke. Brendan might have gone with Routledges pace over Dobbs, when starting with Graham....

Ah the old "football is just a job" line , im not arguing about that im highlighting the fact that the Sun doesnt shine out of ferrie boddes ar$e hole like some on here think it does.

Saying things like "we would have got to the prem sooner " if he was in the side may be true may not be, he just as easily could have buggered off else where , hence the reason why i posted the links!!
some people on here seem to have forgot Ferrie bodde only looks after ferrie bodde ,i havent forgoten that so dont need reminding. ive worked in contracting all my life and know how the world works !! others seem to think he is the answer to all our problems even though he hasnt kicked a competative ball in 3 yrs :)

Remember football is just a job to the players and managers -jager.

really? well thank **** you told me that :) wish i could get a job where i get paid a fortune to not do my job! contracts eh ? ferrie has been looked after very very well.

Think we're all fairly aware what happened 3 summers ago"- WSAF

Well if your only fairly aware i will suggest you read the links :)
to think Ferrie would still be a swan now if he never got his injury is delusion ,the guy loves money and loves to spend it ,we as a club have a wage limit that he would have reached 2 seasons ago(if he carried on good form) so SCFC and ferrie would have cashed in and said their good byes :)

Of course all hypothetical ,he is injured and getting well paid to chill out, rehab and drink coffee in amsterdam/rotterdam.

Superswan99- Your post above is bang on by the way, even if Jesus comes down and fixes ferries knee it will take him years to get back to battle hardness ,the pace of premier football is so fast, we all feel it as fans so imagine what its like for players!! they run an average of 8-10km per game and have high impact and low impact collisions within the 90-100mins of football , how on earth is bodde going to get up to speed in that league having not played a game of football for 3 yrs ??

Love him to bits but i dont think you will ever see him turn out for the first team again .

Norway nobody here think the sun shines out of his arse, but the old football is a job line by you suggests that you think it isn't , the fact is though Swansea City is a business first, and bodde is an employee of said business! If he wanted away at that time it would be up to him, did anyone criticise Scotland when he went to Wigan , it's the same thing for Bodde, if terms were agreed he would have gone for a much higher wage packet, and we would have been compensated !

No jager i do Think its a job ,of course it is. Didnt see jason scotland hand in a transfer request though did you? bodde wanted to go Even though a valuation wasnt acceptable to SCFC ,putting in a transfer request forced the clubs hand and he ended up with more money, Even after the club allegedly helped him with personal debt issues.

He never had a quarter of the grief that the likes of taylor had and taylor didnt do anything wrong!

So yes There Are plenty that Think the sun shines out his arse ,history has proved that. Bodde got away with things other pros could only Dream about ;)

Anyway , lets hope he gets cured by jesus and earns his wages for us for once.

That is a part of football Norway , people move from club to club, transfer requests put in and it's either accepted or not, it's a two way street there is no loyalty involved it's all about what the player thinks what's best for him, and what the thinks it can get for him!

As for the debt thing, never heard of that before and if it's true it has sod all to do with us, to be honest I am amazed that you have even brought it up!

Im amazed you brought up what i brought up, thought it was common knowledge .Again Jager your going off the point , nobody is arguing that its part of football, what i was saying that people are holding up the player as some kind of saviour of SCFC and the guy didnt play much when he was even fit!! and he wasnt fit very often either!

Immensly talented of course but was he ever going to be the only reason for our success ? no.

Why dont you answer the points i put to you about how Taylor was treated compared to Bodde ? Very selective there Jager . There are plenty of people that think the sun shines out of Ferrie Boddes arse and it seems plenty that think he is still going to be a massive player for us, ive no problem with that at all, the guy is/was a special player but please accept that some people also think the club have moved a long way in the three years he has been out.

Love Ferrie to bits. was one of the best midfielders ive seen play for us (when he wasnt injured or getting sent off) my view of him may seem harsh to some people but for me he has been a dark cloud hanging over us with his injury nightmare these last months, even Brenden rodgers has been laying a smoke screen down and feeding us mis information(remember the port talbot game and the reasons for his withdrawl?) its time for Ferrie to either come back and give it a real go or retire , he cant do both :)

No Norway you are going off the point by putting his financial situation on here!

Now go and read the other bodde thread where he has had a successful op , and it has nothing to do with cruciate, what says you ?

And in regards to Taylor, he got the same treatment as any want away player, if he wants to go, just go! Of course it must be with the consent of the club where he is under contract!

And his agent or somebody connected was giving sound bites, I don't think Taylor was the little innocent in this as is made out IMO

Actually Jager your wrong , it wasnt me who brought up the financial side of matters at all , it was another poster who mentioned his "pay as you play" deal. I then posted a link on pay as you play contracts to reinforce the point i made about ferrie not getting any money :0

Maybe you should read through the threads more accuratly in future :)

RE Taylor , you ve made my point for me ! Bodde did not get the same treatment did he ?

Thanks for the tip , i will have a read on the other bodde thread now, see you over there i guess :)

No Norway you brought his financial situation into a thread that has sod all to do with his physical fitness, others brought in what we are paying him, it has no relevance at all to his being able to get on the pitch, the club has obligations, we wouldn't have signed a year contract with him if they thought he had ended

Norway your inside information on Bodde, has poisoned you on this subject in my view, and you don't seem to be reasonable on this!!! Just an observation, hope you don't mind!................
