Day 6. The more media you watch the more I realise a lot of people don’t give a **** anymore now. That worries me more than the Virus itself.
I like this but the problem imo is that the people who most need to listen/understand are the ones least likely to do so. I don't know how you overcome that.
And that is the trouble. People dont give a **** because the so called rules are bollox and dont make sense.
It's true the rules sometimes don't make sense and it's true that govt doesn't always communicate the rules very well but no-one needs much more than half a brain cell to understand what they're trying to achieve. People who disregard the rules do so simply because they don't like them.
I think government models have a tolerance built in for a certain % of people not complying and the strategy still working. I understand that people complied much more than they expected early in the year, would be interested to know what the figure is now.
I'd put money on non-compliance being much higher now. Also in March the lockdown was absolute so apart from it's novelty value compliance was easier to observe because there was nowhere to go!
The rules don't make sense, i've said it earlier. Can go to work, go to shop, go to pub all indoors and even taking out of the equation not meeting up with people, you still are at more risk than if you visited your elderly parents who are either housebound or just don't want to go out, as i am certain people would distance or even wear a face covering when indoors if visiting. Not to mention those in relationships that need and want people around them but can't because they don't live together. My daughter has decided to move in with her boyfriend and parents for a while so they can still have some sort of social life. She's been in tears half the bloody night as she feels guilty leaving me, told her not to worry as it will affect her not seeing him than not seeing me.
I agree with what you say and I'm sorry for your circumstances but my point is that it's not the rules it's the way certain groups of people willfully abuse them. If people behaved more responsibly it might not be necessary to move places to tiers 2 and 3.
Being around Princess Ave this afternoon and town tonight the pub trade is dead even before tier 2 kicks in...some countries have the virus licked because they have herd immunity or have imposed draconian measures, most of europe have done the middle ground and it's not worked, it's going to be ground hog day until herd immunity finally kicks in, the poison is worse than the cure !
I’m sick to death of reading about this ****ing **** EVERYWHERE! FFS, nothing, NOTHING, is literally happening, but the media are all over every ****ing minute detail of nothingness! BBC & Sky are loving it, filling up their news channels 24/7, never been easier. “Ok, let’s go to speak to Dr Who, about masks/breathing.” Is there any wonder people don’t care anymore. Just wash your hands, wear a mask, because that’s what you have to do & get on with it. Move on from all these stupid nonsense rules! Either lock the country down completely or don’t! Stop with, here, you can do this, there, you can’t do that!

Wow 5 people out of millions spread across the world T cell immunity is more important than antibodies count https://www.nature.com/articles/s41577-020-00460-4 If herd immunity doesn't work how come Sweden has on average a death rate of 2 per day, herd immunity is apparent also in South Africa and Malawi of all places.
