No balance to the midfield and a left-back at centre-half, plus nobody seems to know where they're playing. Winks is the deepest player in front of Sanchez and Davies, then everything in front of that is a mess. Alli and/or Lo Celso are too deep, Bergwijn and Bale keep switching sides and Vinicius is completely isolated. Total lack of movement, urgency and quality. No leadership and no apparent game plan.
They swapped it, then swapped back, then swapped again and at no point did they do anything, barring Bergwijn once on the left.
Quality is fine but the desire to put in the required effort counts as well. The lack of desire was a problem at Burnley and is again tonight. I hope it is not an underlying issue, for whatever reason, in the dressing room.
Is that selection? I agree with you but it seems like it’s more to do with the players energy either way...something needs to change...might need to bring on the A team

Agreed. What has happened to that age old wingers' skill of beating the full back and banging in crosses from the byeline? I suppose it depends on getting more players in the box to get on the end of said crosses.

Wouldn’t have taken him or Lo Celso off. Both need the minutes and Vinicius wasn’t doing much wrong either. Not bringing Kane on for him though doesn’t make sense too.
