You get the impression that Origi expected to be gone in the summer and knows he has no chance of being anything but 5/6th choice .
Minamino is very keen but with little direction. I still think hes hard done by to rarely play with Mane and Salah. Playing with Origi isn't helping anyone.
He's had chances alongside the first choice front three (not all at once, but certainly two at once) at times. He's too light weight and slow.
Not sure. He played alright but was it a case of Minamino and Origi being that much worse? He was very good at the start of last season tbf. He's just not a bit part player, he needs to be playing much more than what he'll get.
I'd rather keep Salah and Mané where they are too. Bobby plays deep a lot anyway so I'd be tempted to try pushing an AM forward if he's dropped. Perhaps Gini could have a go? He scored a fair few for PSV in what I think was a more advanced role, and he bags a few for the Dutch national team.
We briefly (10mins at most) played Wijnaldum in that role earlier this season but can't recall which game. Certainly a better option than Origi or Minamino imo but we're also a bit short in midfield atm with them having to fill in at CB.
Jota and Shaq were boss; other than that, it was another **** show. Regardless of who was playing, we should've kicked them off the park
Well ones been with us for years and is obviously no where near the levels he was. One is a relatively new signing thats been given bit parts since he's signed. Asked to work miracles in severely reduced sides. I wonder why people have a different opinion?
Play Shaqiri at 10. Ffs though - Milner in midfield against a Prem team fills me with utter dread - but I said this before Virgil got nobbled, and that is before Christmas we'll see Milner at CB. We need Fab back asap in DM, imo. Antonio will eat us alive on Saturday, I'm sure of it. Thank God they haven't still got Carroll.
I was comparing him to the MF rather than forwards . The way things are going he may well get to play quite often however unfortunately it will be at CB .
just go 343. if you do not trust williams on his own then push him into a right side role and park someone to lcb with gomez in the middle. push taa and robertson on with license to press up and play the remaining cms at cm e.g alisson Williams henderson gomez taa wijnaldum thiago robertson salah firmino mane. this can be 433 if you want based on how the game is going. the only alternative to this in my mind is gambling on henderson at rcb in a 4231 alisson taa henderson gomez robertson wijnaldum thiago jota firmino mane salah in many ways the second is more attractive for a Home game but it has to be high intensity press up front and discipline from the 2 in midfield. what I saw last two games was milner being pulled out of the two by instinct and it leaving us exposed. we are unbalanced no matter what we do imo. we have lost our best ever cb and best and only no 6. add in we've also lost our more creative cms in thiago and keita just to help the situation we've not done too bad so far.
oh and I dont know why Phillips hasn't been on bench. yes in cl he is not in squad but he at least has senior experience in bunesliga.
