I don’t really care what you say by the way, the Politics Thread will be staying.

I think there's a serious problem with the Politics Thread and if it can't be sorted it should be closed.

Some things are best kept in one place...in isolation, so to speak. :)

I am appalled that people wish to close the Politics thread. If they want to do something really useful they should campaign to ban the Sun, The Express and The Daily Mail.

Get rid of the Politics Thread and you'll just have more politics in other threads.

I've not voted but that doesn't have to be the case, you just ban the discussion of it (which I'm sure it was for a long time).

The busiest board on the entire site doesn't allow it.

I'd say leave it be. If you don't like the thread, or aren't interested in it, then don't read it.
The mods mostly keep on top of things, and while I'll admit it gets pretty intense at times, it's because politics stirs strong emotions because it affects every aspect of our lives.
I do feel it's an echo chamber at times but I think that when a government is widely seen to be underperforming or blatantly corrupt (allegedly) then there tends to be vocal criticism. It's all aimed at the right because they're in power.
I shot just as much criticism at Blair and his mob as I do at the Tories, well nearly anyway so I don't think it's a left/right thing at the moment, it's simply those who are pretty content with life, and those who want to see changes
It'll be a shame if the topic didn't have a home as it does keep the subject mostly separate from everything else.

Forgot their board is so busy. In fairness, not much time for politics when you have to spend all of your time organizing against the Allams.

If you all think a Politics thread is bad, then a Religion one would be a nightmare.

Though as an atheist, I suppose that thread would be a make believe thread or a 'Santa Claus for adults' thread to me :)
