They can't pay them more as a base salary, so they need to give them perks.

The irony is that you need to pay competent people a lot to employ them, which justifies giving them more money, but unfortunately most MPs are either dim or just nasty people.

If you reduce pay you'll just get rich ****s or even thicker people running the country, which just makes it worse...

 

Ive not advocated for more government

You can get more control over spending by removing the government from the decision making process ie an independent procurement department .

 

I may not have the full support of the house on this one but I think MPs aren't paid nearly enough. £65-80k a year? £150k for being PM? I know some people think it should be a vocation and members shouldn't be in it for the cash but I can't say I blame them for claiming the allowances, no different from most other similarly paid corporate jobs.

I'd rather they get a decent wedge then eliminate the extras. Should have civil service office support to stop nepotism too.

Already the low-IQ want the BBC to be defunded, they've swallowed the bait, even though the Tories have put their mates in charge + blocked most anti-government messages being reported in the news.
