Gas heads away next eh. Bit random but Alan Warboys just popped into the old noggin playIng for City in or around the late seventies.
The point being if we recognise it you'd think the bloody manager would .. alas he doesn't seem to be able to see beyond his own nose .. hence why I keep banging on about a change of manager.. the bloke is bloody useless
I agree to an extent, but he still does daft things like he did for their second goal on sat, yes greeves should have done much better when the cross came in, but elder shouldn't be rushing in like that on the half way line with absolutely no chance of getting to the man. Maybe he is trying to do to much because as you say he's getting no support, maybe he's just showing a little inexperience or maybe he is just one of these players that we have to accept that every now and then he will have a rush of blood and do something daft like Saturday. Plus if our attacking players had done their jobs on Saturday and taken one or 2 more of the multiple chances they had, his/greeves mistakes wouldn't have mattered
He got turned It happens How close would burke have been to Emmanuel if he got turned? Think greaves May be dropped tomorrow
He did, but it was a very poor rush of blood/judgement that really shouldn't happen BUT I don't think his replacement would offer anywhere near what elder does going forward so I think that makes him keep his place. Greeves is a interesting one, he's still really raw and inexperienced as his mistake showed Saturday, but ( and this may be a coincidence ) we have looked stronger at the back since he stepped in, that could be due to him but it also could be due to Jordi not being in the team. Whichever way grant rolls, we need to take our chances at the business end of the field
De wijs has been ok ish till Fleetwood Dire at the end of last season Personal problems or unhappy at wage decrease or planned transfer but he needs to get his **** together.
From what I've heard a couple of times now, he really wanted to leave, Grant really really wanted him to be moved on, but nobody actually made a concrete offer
Another games is upon us. As others have mentioned, fancy a fair few changes tomorrow. Adelakun for KLP, whose played an awful lot of football this year. Eaves for Magennis as he needs a break I suspect sadly Jordy will be back in too. Not sure who plays more direct, Bristol or Swindon but Jones will be swapped for Smallwood in one of them too. Saturday was a kick in the teeth but we move on. One thing I think has been overlooked is how many players we've had to do without so far. Wilks has only been fit for 4/5 games. Eaves has only just come back Coyle was suspended and now injured Magennis has been away with NI twice Scott has missed a fair few but he's doesnt look far away. Smallwood has missed 3. Jordy missed 2 with illness Elder missed the start of the season. It's been a difficult run, have to wonder how well our rivals would done with a list of absentees like we've had. Shows the strength in depth we have to come away with 6 wins from 8 too
Went there once when they played at a non league ground, can't remember think it was bath, it took around 8 hrs, it was a bank holiday and we didn't get there until half time, drew 1.1. Always a big game after a loss so need a win, KLP for me had an off day on Saturday and needs to be the threat he can be from that left side.
I really don't understand these arguments, you know 90% of any side's formation ahead of their next game. Its one of the easiest things to predict as most teams rarely change. It just felt last season and this like a lazy uneducated way to have a go at the manager. Even playing 433, there's so many different ways to play it as we've showed this season.
I have to say I don't get this negative view on Elder, yes, he is more an attacking wing-back rather than a full back, but Saturday Ferguson changed to 5 in midfield at half time and started getting in behind us, particularly on our left. Terry should have seen this and matched it, but he didn't and that exposed us. I agree his defending can improve, but I don't think he is playing all that badly defensive wise. I fancy us to get the win, 1-0 or 2-0. I think you might see one or two changes, just to freshen things up, maybe Jordy will come back in for Greaves but IMO he should stay with Greaves for the time being.
Could not agree more.....Elder has been a very good signing for us, our formation exposes our full backs, it's a payoff for playing in an attacking way.
My thoughts on greaves is unless he has asked to be taken out of the firing line I’d leave him in. To be dropped after a mistake or two would not do his confidence any good at all, especially if you think of the amount of times jordy has made mistakes and been kept in for the next game. He is young and will make mistakes, it’s part and parcel of learning the game. You learn more from a mistake than when everything is hunky dorie. The next time a similar situation evolves you can deal with it better. He reminds me of Alan Hansen at Liverpool and the way he moved about the pitch. If this lad gets anywhere near that we’ll have a wonderful footballer on our hands. This lad is desperate to play for Hull City, Jordy does not strike me as that..
Must admit I said to my lad on Thursday that I haven't been as impressed with Greaves as some. And still think that way. However, give me someone who really wants to play for us every time, a Mally Lord over a Ben Afra or a Bullard anytime.
Just googled Paul Randall and they weren’t doing well but fighting for survival. They filled kempton as I was ball boy on that side and they were giving me grief. They invaded the pitch at the end! I was off like a ****ing shot when the whistle blew From wiki This left Rovers concentrating on survival in the Second Division and the relegation battle went to the final day of the season with the team needing to go to Hull City and not lose.[2]They won the match 1–0, with Randall scoring his 22nd goal of the 1977–78season to remain in the second tier.
