What effect do you think this made up rubbish would have on Baz' family, or indeed, on your's Hornette if such "rumours" were were anonymously posted about you.

Hi Mark, nice to see you posting. Answering this here, just because to answer it anywhere else would seems strange . This particular bit of 'schoolgirl tittle-tattle' came from a man...so i suppose i could be offended by your sexism, but i won't be, don't worry. I'm afraid when you place yourself in the public eye, speculation, especially when one is being cagey, is inevitable. Not only that, but if this 'gossip' is going around the school, i feel sure that the family would be far more likely to hear it there, than here, on some rather obscure website. However, should they read it here, i'm also certain it will be old news to them, as these rumours are deemed to be exceedingly old too. Perhaps, rather than post it on this thread, i could have post it on the dedicated Baz thread, but that didn't occur to me at the time. For that i apologise, you're right, it's not news, it's rumour, though there have been plenty of rumours posted on this thread in the past, none of which came to much, but were interesting to read at the time. I have to admit, over my years of being on the net, i have heard a lot of rumours about me, and yep, some haven't been too pleasant, but when you put yourself out there, i'm afraid it can happen. Like with most things, if there's any truth in it, you take it on the chin, if not, you ignore it and move on. Meanwhile, if it is made up rubbish, then i'm as guilty as the man who told me of passing on made-up rubbish, sorry. Either way, i doubt we'll find out the truth.
Hornette, your post says that you "met someone whose daughter is in the same school as Baz' daughter". So your rumour seems to have originated from two girls who are at school. This led me to believe that they were, in fact, school girls. It did not seem to originate from the person you met whatever sex that person may have been. I therefore think it is a little inaccurate to call me sexist. And Norway, it is not news. News is based on fact, and here, Hornette agrees with me. See her post 3.07 pm.
You're right Mark, i did, but in fact, the rumour wasn't circulating around the children, but around the parents, and i got it from a Dad...however, i didn't make that clear (though you did kinda assume it came from a girlie lol...but i was only joshing with you on the sexism remark...coz trust me, i'm no feminist ). The original post, i think you'll find, clearly stated it was a rumour, and hearsay and i hoped that everyone would have realised by the way i worded it that as it had no factual basis, it really was a lighthearted comment with no foundation..and was to be taken with a fairly generous pinch of salt. However, i'm sorry if i offended you Mark.

It's just that I get riled when I see unfounded, offensive and irrelevent comments about a person's private life. If I could add the same emoticons as you at the end of your post, I would.
