I think that the most important decision moving forward is who we choose to replace Marcelo when he calls it a day, got to be someone that wants to carry on with what he has put in place and that’s not going to be easy.
Luke did one without a opposition player within ten yards of him at Villa Park Ayling was exceptional all the same imo!
yeh, was looking at nov the other day... challenging set of fixtures, followed by chelski away. We’ll have a good idea where we stand then. having said that... premier fixtures all look challenging when you’re used to looking at championship ones - West Brom goes from being the hardest game on paper to the easiest one.
I was screaming at Costa, he had two opportunities to win the ball fairly let alone fouling JG, he was pushed to one side like a big girls blouse
True but the requirements alter too... 2.00 PPG to get promoted changes to, 1.05 PPG to avoid relegation. Think the players are enjoying being away from that promotion pressure of the last 2 seasons.
The fact he didn't sprint back to help Koch annoyed me more. Was singing his praises against Wolves for his tracking back but seems he still switches off sometimes and that very nearly cost us. Raphinha showed more inclination to fight for possesssion in his cameo from the 83rd minute which Bielsa will have noted.
Looks like WBA and Brighton will be fighting to stay up. One half each and Bilic must have laid a couple out at half time because they started playing and equalised. Crap game, crap teams
Oh and hearing Bilic may walk out at anytime as they gave him no money and sold a player without telling him....
Two poor teams, both destined to be fighting out in the bottom five Brighton were hanging for a win at home, in the end they paid for it
I did, both poor teams Haven't seen one team that has impressed me this weekend apart from the Mighty Leeds
I have a different view: Bamford has scored so many because the rest of the team are serving up so many chances for him, he still missed three against Villa that he should've scored from or at least tested their goalie more When Bielsa bought Rodrigo for a reported club record transfer, I thought it was a like for like replacement of Bamford...but as Rodrigo doesn't seem to relish an out and out striker role, I wonder where he fits in. I fear he's a square peg for a round hole We all love Ayling, but best right back in the EPL? Don't make me laugh, he is nowhere near as accomplished a footballer as Alexander-Arnold or even James and Wan-Bissaka Most heart perhaps I'm not sure if he makes Bielsa's first XI either, same with Costa I wasn't sure of Meslier, but he looks the part now - I'd put money on him making the French squad for next year's Euros I think the signing of Diego Llorente for a reported £18 (same as we paid for Ferdinand Btw) is a head scratcher - that much for a bench warmer ? I have to think that Bielsa's first team (if everyone is fit) is three at the back, giving us: ................................................Meslier ................................Koch........Llorente.........Cooper Raphinha.................Klich..........Phillips.....Pablo........Harrison ....................................................................Rodrigo ..................................................Bamford Nb: Raphinha or Costa could play in Pablo's place with Costa out wide if Raphinha moves in field.
