For me the improvement was evident from about the 4th game, much like it was last time he was at West Ham, but this time he's got a better squad and gets the best out of them. (Arnie was a winger and a transfer failure, Michail Antonio was back up to the front 3, and Rice a defender.) We have a decentish first XI this time around, and he's given them the right attitude, if you don't run and work you don't play. I think we'll be solid top 10 this season, with the right buys in the next window Europe isn;t out of the question. Our depth doesn't have that much quality though, and there isn't much of it either, 23 named players and a few of them didn't need to be named as they qualify as youth team and are there just to buff the numbers.
I think all big six managers are pretty safe for various reasons. Ole seems to have the backing at Utd and the club legend factor seems to help that. Fat Frank is the same, club legend so Chelsea won’t sack any time soon, even if so far they’ve massively underwhelmed after spending a quarter of a mil. Arteta is still early in his tenure and there’s a lot of **** Arsenal to need to get rid of before the manager. Jose’s sweet with us at the moment. Playing some slick stuff but we just can’t defend for ****, if we can sort it out at the back he’s well secure. Klopp obviously ain’t going anywhere unless a big club come calling and he fancies a new challenge elsewhere. Can’t see City sacking Pep even though he’s just overseen another £100m on CBs and still can’t defend for ****. May walk but as someone else said that probably won’t be til end of the season.
Lost his mum and lost interest in my opinion. I reckon he's realised theres more to life than footie.
Or Man City have drained the life out of him, sapped every bit of enthusiasm he had for the game with their plastic club.
Potter has to be walking a tightrope, need to win tonight, 3 out of the next 4 toughies, they showed no loyalty to Hughton.
Maybe they felt his mother was a distraction and spiked her morning brew Im not saying thats what happened but ye never know with them lot
I think he'll be safe. They're playing well and they've had hard fixtures to start with getting beat off Man Utd, Chelsea and Everton. They've been undefeated against Newcastle, Palace and West Brom. He's putting a decent side together there and I think they'll do alright. Just realised the West Brom fixture is on now
7 points from 6 games is sackable form for middle third of the table teams let alone united. Luckily he'll sprinkle in the odd win or two to keep the job, which suits me fine
Hammer Istanbul Beskisahara then get a 0-0 away to Everton, Ed will give the useless **** a new contract.
It would be great for United to stay loyal to Little Ollie until at least the middle of the season, when United find themselves in a relegation battle, sitting just above the bottom three. And then for them to feel forced to bring in a relegation specialist. We all know who I'm talking about, so let's not be coy about this. Imagine the horror for the likes of Roy Keane and Gary Neville. Naturally, the wummery on this board will be savage, and I expect the likes of Tel and Chief to take extended breaks. But for me, I like to think I'd maintain some dignity and decorum. Whilst the likes of astro and Sucky are frotting themselves raw and dizzy on piss-takes, I imagine myself being quite refined, and pushing a footy agenda, rather than a third rate wum agenda. I'd be curious to ascertain whether or not Big Sam intends to revert to a long-ball game, and throw in some big lads at the back to "shut up shop." I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't already licking his lips and leafing back through his old notebooks for the names of some old mates who could come in "and do a job." I'm not saying that I would be adverse to the odd wum, here and there, but that would certainly not be my main point of focus.
