Just walking down stairs...ruptured my gastrocnemius a couple of years ago doing the same, and this time my Achilles tore just above the heel, same reason, just that tension that everything is under as you step down. It's a symptom of age, some things just aren't as stretchy as they were.
Yep completely snapped my Achilles running for a cashpoint. Fortunately my car was an automatic so was able to drive 70 miles to my home
Listening to you guys I feel quite normal breaking my leg in two places whilst doing a back flip in an Irene Cara wig singing 'Fame'.
Just seen it; that's a red card all day long. He even niggles him at the beginning of the run. Don't see how it can be 'accidental' when he's in pursuit of him for 30 or 40 yards. F*ck's sake
I understand what you're saying but I generally find the game so dull without fans. I don't tend to find myself fully engaged with any of the matches and only half watching while doing something else. It's ****e without fans imo, they're the lifeblood of the game and I can't wait until they're back in some capacity. I'm only watching games because I'm getting sky ones for free at the minute, I certainly wouldn't pay for it.
In Karen Carney’s write up on the BBC website she says Shane Long stormed down the tunnel because he didn’t get on the pitch, any one else hear that?
Indeed and showed just about every Everton effort to try and show the game was closer than it actually was esp after the massive Everton love in build up and the two ex Everton pundits. Usual BBC biase
It’s **** getting old man. I went for a run yesterday, the first for quite a while. My legs were okay, but my lungs just didn’t want to know. 13 years since my last cigarette, but the damage has been done. And though my legs were okay yesterday, either knee is prone to downing tools occasionally due to historic ligament damage.
Couldn’t believe what I was watching with that “Scouse fans are a special breed” sycophantic montage just before they showed our game. Embarrassing nonsense, hopefully we shut them all up.
Try a bike Archers. After years of football and then carrying excess weight, my knees couldn’t take running anymore. Two and half years ago a Former colleague of mine died of a heart attack and he was 55. I had to do something. I got my old bang of a push bike out the garage and rode to the next village and back. 6 miles. I was knackered. Over the next 30 months I gradually built it up doing an extra mile here or there. All I wanted to do was get my heart and lungs working to give my health a chance. Today my knees are fine. I get the odd creak, but the bike is kind to them. The heart and lungs feel good and more importantly it’s helped my mental health. I’m not sure that I’d have coped this last 7 months without being able to jump on the bike and pedal away the stresses. The beauty of the bike is that you can let it take the strain when you’re just not feeling it. Feel ok? Pedal harder. Feel a little tired? Pedal slower. There are other side benefits too. I’m now just about 2 stone lighter than I was (though weight Loss was never my aim). I now have a proper new hobby too and I love it. Cycled 500-700 miles a month when the evenings were light. Now have to do a bit more at weekends or sneak a lunchtime ride in during the week.
^This Trouble is you can’t see much on the telly so don’t know what’s going on off the ball But what I see every game is teams trying to exploit our right and nothing getting down our left and Redders and Bertie Playing our right midfielder as a number 10 does seem to be a bit risky at times
That was a cracking performance. Watched the red card incident several times. Totally intentional IMo. He actually puts his hands up a second before he stands on his foot. And he’s looking exactly where he intends to stand before he does it. ****er. I was quite liking Everton even after the VVD murder but not any longer.
A bit of balance from the Beeb ... Ralph Hasenhuttl: Southampton deserve credit for sticking with boss - Karen Carney https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54685092
Swimming - especially the crawl - could be great therapy for these complaints. Though I wasn't sure at first, two months every other day, sorted so much out for me.
Thats actually probably better than cycling. My problem with swimming is that all the old dears complain I’m too slow if I breast stroke and I splash too much if I front crawl, as I flail my arms about in a desperate bid to get to the end of the pool so I can breathe again.
