I wonder if the tally of win Hamilton leaves behind will ever be challenged. It seems unlikely, but I said that about Schumacher too.
I really don't have a anything against the bloke at all, but he really doesn't offer much at all. Much preferred the days when Rosberg was in the car and there were some good scraps and some title battles. Please Merc... Put somebody better in that car!
I have a gentleman's wager with a friend who thinks Verstappen will surpass Hamilton's final tally. I think he won't. He's obviously extremely impressive, and a cut aside the rest of the field ignoring Hamilton. When Ham retires he will have every opportunity to dominate, but the rule changes will be increasingly focused on not allowing any one team to dominate. I think Verstappen has bags of talent and at 23 has plenty of time to smooth out his rougher edges, but Hamilton's final tally will be very high - perhaps past 110?
Never said Nico was shabby . He is however , very smart . My point is , for anyone to say Bottas is not a racing driver is silly . I am a fan , I agree his head has dropped , but surely he is a racing driver ?
It's pretty rare that Hamilton wins a race by such a margin, he obviously had much more confidence than the likes of Bottas and Max behind him today. Records are there to be beaten so who knows what the future holds. Not that long ago Vettels 4 titles in a row seemed outlandish!
And if El Brando says he did that as well , then YAWN..... yes I know I have left an open goal . Bottas is a good driver , his morale is rock bottom .
Personally I think that Bottas is there as a good number 2. He is there to take points from rivals and to protect Lewis. His morale is destroyed he needs a move. I guess he won't be there in 2022. Will he still have a F1 seat - I doubt it as he hasn't got lots of financial support. Pity really as he looked to be a good driver with potential that has just been held back. Lewis was talking today of a single year! So maybe he won't rise to the challenge of new 2022 regs or he knows Merc won't be so involved in F1?
I have said before that Bottas will be out of F1 after the end of next season . He’s had a bloody good run , but his head drops . For anyone to suggest he is not a racing driver is daft imho .
Yes . Ref Lewis , I think he will,of course be WDC this year and will have a good chance of getting there again next season . What else will he have to prove ? He also has other interests . And , if he fails next year , name me a team that won’t want him ?
