No T&T has been a nightmare for the government. I believe they thought they would have a ’World beating’ app but for some reason it hasnt been as good as expected. Boris should never have boasted about it but we don't know what he was told prior. On another note France has also had problems with apps and have just introduced the new one (after the last one failed) with only 500,000 downloading it. Just one day in they are having problems. I guess it's not just us.

You’ll still get your precious Brexit whether you defend them or not on this, Col.

Don't remember defending them about free school meals, but you continue with your lying twaddle.

I didn’t mention free school meals, Col. Good to see you draw the line somewhere though, assuming that means you oppose their decision.

Meanwhile in France they recorded 42k new cases with nearly 300 dead yesterday. Emperor Macron reckons it might not be over until next summer? We normally follow them which is not good to hear.

You said - "whether you defend them on this or not".
    What were you referring to?

The post I replied to of yours was in reply to Ellers’ post about track and trace. France’s government aren’t being slaughtered over free school meals as far as I know.

Lee Hurst is trending for anyone bemoaning the lack of right wing comedians these days.

Aah, bless. He and his kind are of course the biggest victims of this ‘nonsense’.

This is a little bit like having voles in the garden - single measures don't work. They only work in combination with a host of other measures taken consequently over a period of time. Of course - if wearing a mask is your only defence against Covid 19 then it's effectiveness is going to be limited but in combination with other social distancing rules such as the 2 metre rule where practicable, and avoiding closed in areas with larger groups of people. In other words you should calculate those situations which are risk free (like being at home, or being in the fresh air) and spend as much time doing those things as possible - above all people should take this thing seriously and realise that only a collective effort will bring this to an end.

Anyone see the story in the Sunday Times today about the ‘triage protocols’ drawn up at the request of Chris Whitty, which essentially said that patients over 80 with COVID should not be admitted to hospital and should certainly not occupy critical care beds during the height of the first wave? The vast majority of deaths were, of course, in the over 80 age group.

The guidance was never officially published (not a surprise) but was unofficially circulated and followed in many places - North West, Midlands, London, South East.

While guidance like this would not surprise me, given the sole objective of ‘protecting the NHS’, it is still shocking. So shocking that I’m suspicious about the story, surely something like this would have reached the public ages ago?

Read some more now, and the ST is really going to town on this.
