Some of the Villa supporters had become a bit too cocky, this is the reality check. Lower mid-table beckons...
Results are completely barmy this season. Villa thrash Liverpool; Massive beat Villa. Equals: Massive are Premier League Champions. All clear now.
Even more barmy is Patrick Bamford scoring a hat trick in the PL (even if it was only against the Vile). Bielsa is in league with the devil.
Hammers good value for their 1-0 half time lead over Citeh who look seriously out of sorts. Great goal by Antonio as well...
I've never rated Bamford, but Bielsa certainly appears to be getting the best out of him. If it continues, like Sterling's improvement under Pep, then Bielsa can take huge credit. I suspect that it may just be a limited purple patch.
They looked average for much of that game. Aguero isn't right and some of the newer players are not in the same class as previous players. Thing is Pep said the other week he needs £400 million to fix their defence, it's a bit like a kid in a sweetshop. I reckon he thought he had Messi in the bag and the knock back has left him a bit deflated...
Ajax had a tough game in the Dutch League. close game.....only 13 goals in it.....oh and they scored them all
Watching Manc v Chelsea......feck me it's awful..... Maguire involved in some all in wrestling that doesn't even warrant a var review but one of the clearest fouls you're ever likely to see yet an innocuous challenge at the other end does.....
Not sure there was a penalty in any. Poor game, although Cavani nearly scored with his first touch when he came on.
Real beat Barca pretty easily at the Nou Camp. Apart from being a former player and brought up in the Cruyff style of play, I can’t fathom why Barca made Koeman their manager. His record, including big budgets at Everton and elsewhere, is less than mediocre.
Impressed by Sheff utd at anfield...playing some really good football, can't believe they've only got 1 point so far... Var makes another dubious decision with a tackle outside the box given as a penalty ....although it was against Liverpool, probably wouldn't be given if there was a crowd in the ground....
Saints have done a job on Everton, another surprise result as the PL remains unpredictable. Liverpool's narrow win yesterday proving valuable...
Weird, weird season. Lack of preparation etc, plus no crowds leading to injuries and unexpected results. Could be a very open title race.
