Learn more from defeat than you do victory they say.

I’d have preferred to learn nowt all season and keep winning games

Poorly organised side found out. The signs have been ignored for too long, and now we've been found out. We have the squad to do much better than this, we have the players to beat this team, but do we have the manager, I'll get some stick for saying this, but I'm not sure we do.

At no point did we look like the home team or able to blame the home support.

It was tedious and lacking everything I expect from my club.

Portsmouth are terrible which makes this defeat all the more difficult to take.

1 shot on target. This could cost us unless we sign at least 1 decent striker in January.

mistakes at the back against a team like them and rubbish, Hull and Doncaster losing as well, well that's that season finished, no Mcgeady, Kimpioka and he should have played the 2 new defenders as well. I see Nigel clough coming in.

Exactly. Just like last season. Took teams a few games to sus us out but by the end of last season we were easy to play against. Also the idea of the game is to score goals so little intent. Happy to lump a ball into the box

Anyway KTF we move on. Time for the players and the manager to step up

Yep, our inability to score goals was very much on show today..ie how many saves did their keeper have to make.

Yes defence made mistakes (3) this will happen... we need to bang them in the other end.

Its going to be a long season, atm I do not have high expectations, unless we can do something about scoring!

It’s easy for decent teams to come away and work us out. We are so one dimensional and relying on being tight at the back. Nothing at all through the middle, it always goes outside, no variation, nothing and it will be the same next time out. His answer is to bring on two strikers for midfielders, leaving the ****ing hapless Power in there as the only recognised one. Within a minute, they play through us and earn the penalty. People can go on all they want about being tight at the back, like I say, mistakes mean that you will never be strong over 90 minutes. I can guarantee that we won’t change the way we play. Parkinson never was, never is and never will be the man for Sunderland. Too ****ing late now though as we are stuck with a plodding midfield and no mobility up front. That is what you get with Parkinson, like it or lump it. Hopefully Donald, if he was hanging on, has realised what a useless ****er he is and his shares aren’t really worth that much
