Im getting rather annoyed with the 'wenger out' bizniz at the moment. Yeah we lost a few games but were only 7 Games in. Blackburn aint sacked Kean yet after 7 games of a worse run. And who would replace wenger. at the mo i see benitez being the only cadidate currently available. We dont need him and do not want benitez. So all this get him out. why should we , best manager arsenal has ever had. the team are also to blame. We have a very nice list of games to come so we can catch up and im sure the top 4 will all loose points along the way. I think we can atleast get 20/25points in the next 9 games Sunderland. Stoke (rugby team) Bolton Chelsea (draw would be great) WBA Norwich Fulham Wigan Everton. that is all
When things aren't going well, people seek out a scapegoat, someone to pin all of the blame onto. Ultimately, as manager, Wenger carries the responsibility for Arsenal, and he's the obvious target for people's frustrations. But the savvy one's know that getting rid of him would not improve the situation.
I just posted this elsewhere. I retire in a few months and fancy the Arsenal job - after all we have an old, stubborn, whingeing, disrespectful and batty manager. I can do that easily for half the money.
The Bolton game is a Carling Cup fixture so no points there. I think we'll be lucky to get 4 points from the next 3 games and i cant see us getting more than 11 from the others so 15 is more likely than 20/25. After that its 2 away games at Citeh and Villa , we won't get much out of those. So thats a total of 26 points by the middle of December. All we can hope is Xmas is kind to us and we get a few new players in January. Otherwise it will be mid table obscurity and no Champions League next year in which case we can wave goodbye to RVP, Song, Sczezney and Walcott.
Why are people blaming Wenger anyway? apart from the Man Utd game where we were deservedly thrashed, the referee has robbed us of points: Newcastle - Barton should've been sent off as well = more chance of Arsenal grabbing a late winner Liverpool - Both goals offside Blackburn - Two goals offside Spurs - Handball for 1st goal = VDV should have got a 2nd yellow and therefore should've been sent off = more chance of Arsenal winning.
A more realistic view is that we are doing badly and that is mainly down to poor management by Wenger. In fact I would say its more savvy to think that than assume that everything is fine and we have just been unlucky.
Even if those decisions went for us we wouldn't have many more points than we have now maybe 10 instead of 7. Citeh and Utd have nearly double that so it is hardly an excuse for p*ss poor form.
Hey, guys! Here's someone who finds Mr Wenger amusing. Look at him laugh! please log in to view this image
Gooners Eleven Newcastle - Song should have been sent off for his challenge on Barton, the match should have ended up with 10 vs 9 in favour of Newcastle there. You can't even argue that because Song did get a suspension for that disgusting challenge. Blackburn - Regardless of the two offside goals, Arsenal should be going to Ewood on Blackburn's current form and tearing them apart. Liverpool - This loss was due to a lack of fit players and the fact that Frimpong couldn't stay on his feet. Once he was sent off Liverpool tore you to pieces. Spurs - I actually think you deserved to win this one, Spurs were schooled for much of that game on how to pass a ball but there was nothing at the end of it. Whilst we're discussing how unlucky you have been let's remember the freak goal that Arshavin scored to win the game vs Swansea. If it wasn't for that moronic mistake by Vorm you might have ended up with just a point. Manchester City have shipped you about £65m in the last few seasons plus Barca have given you £35m and all you have to show for it is some "promising", youngsters such as Chamberlain and a couple of uber-flops in Chamakh (free but still...awful), Gervinho and Mertesacker (I guarantee you he won't ever find good form in the Premiership, the guy is pig food on the best of days).
Steevee our form isn't confined to this season. This is the same form we exhibited from March of the past season when in 11 games, we managed only 12 points. So thus far in this season we have 7 points from 7 matches. Don't you think there is a familiarity about it all? Yes Arsene is the best manager we have ever had but are you saying that he is able to repeat the form that we had between 1998 to 2004. On the evidence that is in place since The Invincibles I don't think this is possible. If you look at our best seasons since then, we begin to fall away from March. This season, we have fallen away already and it's only October. Who can replace Arsene? Anyone who can change our fortunes. For six months now we have been caught in this cycle of taking one point per game. That's an 18 match run...... nearly half a season and there is no sign of relief in sight. It would not be surprising that the Top teams will drop points but so will we and especially on our form. You cannot ignore form in my humble opinion nor can you overlook the evidence. The evidence does not gloss over anything, one way or the other. It is what it says. Of the next 9 matches I would love to take 20 -25 points but over the past five seasons our performance for matches 8 to 16 have yielded the following points 2006/2007 - 12 points 2007/2008 - 17 points 2008/2009 - 16 points 2009/2010 - 17 points 2010/2011 - 21 points And in respect of those years I think you'll agree that we had a stronger side. Admittedly the statistics only show those games over the same period in those seasons. They need not be the same matches that are played over each season but the recent pattern for this period is that we do not take more than 21 points and has been as low as 12. So while I respect your view and hope we do get at least 20 points, it seems less than likely.
Sorry, mate, but are you on the same planet as everyone else? Arsenal did exactly what they always do - tip-tap the ball around, looking very pretty, but did absolutely nothing with it. Why should we (or any other team) chase around after them when they are completely toothless in the final third. Friedal barely had a save to make. We, on the other hand, schooled AFC on the fine art of counter-attacking football, and how to finish the job properly. We had their defence is all kinds of problems. EPL football is not a beauty parade, it's about winning games
It was a voluntary exile Jayram so in common with such withdrawals, a return was on the cards. C'mon friend, he has spoken well in favour of our team and life's too short and all that ...... Cheers please log in to view this image
I'm still blaming gazidis the baldy bastard. Wenger deserves criticism too, but kojak is the real reason we're doing poorly. Who loves you baby?
