A serious question ! Gills need to be concerned, as Fleetwood played at Accrington on Tuesday ( How did they lose - after thrashing Hull 4-1 )?

With the rate of daily new infections, it would be a huge surprise if more players -- of Fleetwood, have not been affected..... I can see many more games affected.... how long before there is complete chaos with the football fixture list ?

Fleetwood have been a bit strange like that,

Started the campaign winning 2 - 1 against Burton Albion.
    Lost 2 - 1 against Peterborough.
They then lost 1 - 0 against AFC Wimbledon.
    Another 2 - 1 loss against Rochdale.
Match 5 was the 4 - 1 demolition of Hull.
    Then a 0 - 0 with Lincoln.
Last game was a defeat against an Accrington team who look like they where all coming down with covid.

It would seem they are as inconsistent as we are..........Game On.

I see it's 1pm kick-off again if it does go ahead. I haven't bought my Ifollow match yet for it, will wait until the morning and see what the situation is and if the game is still going ahead.

Ogilvie lining up at centre half with Medley playing Left Back. Two up front with Akinde and Samuel. Mellis out for a few weeks and Dempsey not risked. Oliver not in squad.

Putting the result to one side, I thought that position far suited Medley today, unfortunately I fear the result will overshadow his effort.

I did say last week we should stick Zech up front, well the wing will do, sadly that absolute bellend O''''''''''glivie got himself sent off and we'll probably see ZM shoved back to where he don't belong in defence.

The difference between the two sides, we don't have any strikers that are goal poachers. We just have big statues.

We played a lot better today, with a bit of pace and mobility up front we would have a good team.

I felt compared to the Oxford game, the luck went against us this time, funny how the fortunes play out in footie.

I think that Samuel got a bit of luck -- in the first half he tumbled in the penalty area - and kicked out at the Fleetwood defender --- in the style of Beckham, all those years ago, against Simeone -- and got a red card..... actually, I detected a 'double' attempt to kick out during the same incident .
Another referee would have sent him off ....... Samuel probably got sympathy from the referee for not even being able to foul properly !

Only the second game I've seen this season and first half was much improved from the absolute dross of last week. It's a shame that Akinde couldn't finish his one on one in the first half, clearly low on confidence and he looked completely distraught after not being able to finish.

Second half we allowed Fleetwood to have too much of the ball and kept pumping the ball long time after time. First goal I would say they didn't deserve but once again not taking our chances with MacDonald hitting the bar proved it wasn't going to be our day and Ogilvie's second clumsy yellow just topped it off.

I find the whole pumping the ball long tactic incredibly frustrating. We supposedly have midfielders who can actually keep it on the floor but they don't get the ball and when they do, they offload too quickly. If we continue to be too predictable and playing it long we're no better off than under Lovell and at least then we had Tom Eaves lol.
