a mock obituary to Arsenal's dominance of London football which concluded that: "The body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Tottenham".

When they overhaul our 13 league titles, 10 FA cups and three doubles,
then they can claim they are the dominant force in North London,
until then - Arsenal still reign <ok>

Ughhh you sound like a bindipper! Still clinging on to their ****ing 5 european cups.

History doesn't matter if Spurs beat you and finish above you in the league. They are at the moment North London's top dogs in my opinion.

    Glady - I'm happy to disagree <ok>

  6. A force is only a force if it is continually applied. What ever force you had is spent and, therefore, has ceased to be applied.

Kingdom Brunel used to be the force in engineering, at the time of the Industrial Revolution, but only a fool would suggest that steam ships are a better form of travel than jet planes. They used to be the best form of travel, but not any more <ok>

    It is time to concede.

Hoddle is a Sod - let me put you right.
Isambard K Brunel to be precise.
Kingdom was his mother's maiden name, father being French.

  8. I couldn't remember his first name. Big deal! You know who I meant.

It does not alter the fact that it is time for you to concede <laugh>

  9. What is the point of recalling all our past triumphs as though they may guarantee a passage for us into the future?

This is fallacy since no credit is due for past performance. You are only as good as you are. No brownie points for the achievements of the past and the silverware of yore simply grow old in the trophy room. They are not like putting away for one's pension since like shares going up and down in the stock market, players leave before they have rewarded the club for years of preparation. The club remains unfulfilled and it's dreams lie on the ground like ashes and dust. No one will give us a wild card entry into the Champions League or for that matter the Europa Cup. These have to be earned and quite simply, we are not doing it.

What we do about it is the all important question.

Quit being so dramatic. We actually played quite well all things considered, and VDV's goal should have been disallowed for handball, he should have got a 2nd yellow and beens ent off

  11. We did play quite well Mr Eleven but not well enough.

You only get points for playing well enough. Bad calls by officials will always happen because of the way the game is adjudicated. Unless you bring in TV this is all we have. Nevertheless if we don't get the job done, we still don't get any points. It's the same for all the other clubs.

They weren't completely dominant as some of the media have made out. Overall a dew would of been a fair result but they took their chances and won.

I'd say they are slightly better than us but we will have to wait to the reverse fixture to see for certain. I'm not that hopeful really.

And without the engineering brilliance of Brunel, the jet plane may never have been invented.

    Know thy place spudling <ok>

Anyway - I thought you said you were never going to post on our 'small minded board ever again'?

    Fickle as well as hypocritical

  15. The advantage of a self-imposed exile is that you can return <ok>

Mr H is only engaging in banter with us here which is fine. Hopefully it lightens our gloom even if by a little. Elsewhere he has stood up for Arsene. Quite a lot more in fact than many of us. Who knows? Mr H may have some Wenger DNA in him. Perhaps he should be immortalised <laugh>

Brunel's incredible feats had no bearing on the jet engine. - steam and atmospheric were more his subjects.
    Inspirational to all engineers however.
