Real Madrid's terrible run of form continues and ZZ will very likely be fired if they lose to Barca this coming weekend. Poch is the odds on favourite in Spain to take over as RM manager- what are you going to do Woody, stick or twist. If you don't go for Poch now you will lose him, but after our recent upturn in form.....................................................

Heard rumours Chelsea are courting allegri as well. We will no doubt sack ole when the two most ideal candidates have taken jobs elsewhere...

You'd think we'd learn our lesson about employing unemployed mangers, after LVG and Mourinho?

All it means is the club haven't carried out a proper recruitment, they just give the job to an available bloke.

Pep was unemployed when city got him. Their employment status is irrelevant. Lvg and Mourinho were had beens. Moyes was gainfully employed and was utter ****e.

    Is it **** irrelevant.

Poch was sacked from his last job and is now unemployed, it is completely relevant. You describe Mourinho, a man who has actually achieved success, as a has been in similar circumstances?

Allegri I'll give you, he's just had some time off. A bit too long now mind.

The point remains though, they'd just be giving it to someone who is avaliable rather than actually recruiting the right man.

So we should pay a shed load of money to take a employed manager? Who though? Is there anyone breaking the record books? Don’t get me wrong I pay little attention to football anymore to know who is doing well with other teams in Random countries. The Southampton manager is better than we have, though I’d still take poch or allegri over him.

    Er, no.

We should recruit the next manager properly, money has nothing to do with it.

The last time we actually did that was Alex Ferguson.

City did exactly that with Pep, by the time it dawned on United he might be a good idea it was too late.

We were offered both LVG and Mourinho by the press essentially, and Woodward just did what they suggested. Both of them spectacularly the wrong person.

We were **** and gambled on someone. Who nearly got sacked in their first or second season. I can’t remember. There isn’t anyone ripping it up. Since fergie the only one who was ripping it up so to speak was Klopp. Lvg was a seasoned manager who and Mourinho was apparently one of the best managers to walk the planet.

My point is who is there to don some deep investigative recruiting. So we appoint a nobody who won the league in Lithuania ? That’s the equivalent of fergie. You appoint who you can that might improve things. Ole is out of his depth.

    Seriously?

Alex Ferguson won the Scottish league with Aberdeen. Twice.

It's the equivalent of winning La Liga with Rayo Vallecano or something.
He backed it up with winning a European trophy. Against Real Madrid.

But yeah, he was a nobody from a nothing league.

You're talking utter bollocks, to put it politely.

You're seriously advocating employing someone because someone else might just get there first? Knee jerk recruitment destined to go wrong.

Absolutely Glazer era United as it goes.

    How about Zidane <laugh>

If Chief wants employed, get him before he's sacked. If Sweats is partial to unemployed, wait till after saturday.

What they need to do is have someone in place who will identify the right person, and then look to recruit that person.

If it was Poch, this should have been happening as last season ended, and he be put in place before this one started.

Not take a mad punt because it looks like Real Madrid might go for him. If we want him, we should have already employed him

Tbh the best manager for United was Ancelotti. I've not seen a better fit for United than him during the past 30 yrs.

The football and ethos at Milan under Ancelotti was like watching United under Fergie.

But now he's at Everton so fck it.

Greece won the European championship once. What happened to their manager?? Noone knows who he is. My point re Lithuania is pertinent to their size and influence camparable to Scotland.

First point, so? What's that got to do with anything?

    Second point, rubbish.

Lithuania? So, who are the two former European giants of Lithuanian football then, one of which has won the European Cup?

    That's right, they don't exist.

Let’s hunt down raneiri. Clearly winning things against the odds makes you a great.

my point is there is no one . My point on Lithuania is down to being similar size to Scotland and therefore of equal importance had they had a manager who did a raneiri.

Which they don't, so is irrelvant to the conversation.

Would getting a manager from Holland or Belgium be deemed unacceptable because those countries are a similar size to Scotland? Baffling analogy to be absolutely honest.
It's nothing to do with what country, or what size that country is. It's to do with finding the right manager. Not whichever big name merry go round manager that happens to be available to be next in line.

What has Ranieri got to do with anything anyway? Another weird thing to throw out.

Other than he's probably unemployed, so might actually be on United's radar by default.
