I’d forgotten about this, gives good scope to rotate nicely. Really hope this means Clarke at least gets a run out if he isn’t starting, truly do think that bit of unpredictable youthfulness could prove handy and he could be a dark horse to be this season’s Tanganga if given the opportunities.
I think on balance we might see Hart Doherty Dave Toby Davies Sissoko Winks Alli Lucas Kane Bale I just have a hunch that Jose won’t start Vicinius in this one. If GLC was fit to start in the midfield then he might as that guarantees more quality through the team but we have to be super careful with Gio IMO so I think it’s likely minutes from the bench for him ahead of reintegration into the PL starting XI. Would love to see Clarke and Vicinius get minutes from the bench as well in this one though. Suspect Lamela might be an option too as a winger or attacking midfielder.
Risky team, even though we've got a lot of subs available to change things. I've no idea how that Lamela/Bale/Lucas trio is supposed to line up, either. Davies at centre-half seems like an unnecessary risk, to me.
I’m happy with Davies at CB. Hopefully he has a good game and keeps his spot for Monday and plays alongside Rodon, Davies is the only defender I trust nowadays from a defensive standpoint (maybe Doherty and Reggie in time). Don’t wanna see the other three CBs in the XI again unless they have to be after tonight, tired of them messing up Kane and Son’s work. Bale and Vinicius - nooooice! But you put crabby behind them Really hope Clarke makes an appearance.
I presume it’s: Hart Doherty, Sanchez, Davies, Reggie Hojbjerg, Winks Bale, Lamela, Lucas Vinigoal I don’t particularly like Lucas on the left but he’s not better on the right than Bale and he’s not better in the ten than Lamela, even if the ten role itself isn’t Lamela’s best position.
But only two stoppages in play This is what makes it ridiculous, for example in the Bundesliga managers feel compelled to bring on at least two subs rather than risk using three of the allotted five
