So, the current Sunderland manager is shocked to have received criticism for a ****e start to the season is he? I wonder just what he thinks the appropriate response to a shambolic 7 games this season, an embarrassing cup exit and a totally hapless 2011 altogether, should have been then? A pat on the back from all concerned? A pay rise? Hearty congratulations on losing over half the games in the last 28? One of the worst home records I can remember deserves severe criticism, yet the crowd have remained loyal. Just what planet this man now resides on is anyone's guess but it isn't the same one I'm living on that's for sure. Far from having a pop at all and sundry, wouldn't he be much better off showing some humility and acceptance of his guilt in that shambolic 9 month run of poor form? He clings desperately to the 10th place of last year, as if it were something he had a hand in. Without the final kick of the ball in a game 300 miles north of where we were last May and the collapse of our nearest and dearest, we would have been 13th or 14th not 10th and to keep using that line is really pissing me off now. Our final 18 games were a disgrace to this club and our 2nd such collapse in 2 years under Bruce. It's always someone else's fault with Bruce. Always a ready excuse he turns to to hide his own limitations. At Wigan he could get away with it. At Sunderland though, he has been cruely exposed for the 2nd rate manager he really is. If he put his hands up and said look, I've cocked up here and made some huge errors but I'm trying to put them right I may even have some sympathy and support but his arrogant stance is just alienating him further imo. Any other manager with his record over the last 9 months, would have been peddled a long time ago. He plays on Quinnys good nature and soft centre and is merely lobbing 2 fingers up to everyone now. Stop blaming everyone else for your shortfalls Bruce and take responsibility for the mess we are currently in ffs. Sort the ****er out.
Im ****in sick of his excuses too, its never his fault, he really ****s me off like! I agree, if he was honest and said that he knows its not a great start to not beat the likes of Swansea, Norwich and West Brom and be so pathetic in the cup but hes gonna put it right then i may have time for him but his arrogance is just on a completely different level to anything ive ever seen before! Reminds me of a geordie mentallity! FTM
I agree, id much rather he had the sense to understand what's actually going on. I too would much rather he came out and just held his hands up to the shortcomings since January instead of pointing to his mounted framed picture of last years final tabe and saying 'look, I did that'. Say what you will about McCarthy and Keane they always told it how it was. Bruce is now challenging Wilkinson for his 'did he really just say that' moments in interviews. He'd have a lot more fans if he stopped whining and his veiled insults toward us and just said 'we haven't been good enough, we've been poor since January but we are working hard to get the results "OUR' fans deserve.
Niall. He just doesn't seem ready or able to look at his part in this shambles. If he actually thinks a 2 2 draw at home to a pretty hapless WBA is fantastic, then we are never going to see eye to eye about what is success for my club. I feel myself turning his post match excuses off these days, as they just make me angry and pissed off.
This! He needs to take responsibility as at the end of the day the buck stops with him and we are doing ****e! Hes also walking a very fine thread slaggin off the fans all the time, ****in prick, who does he think he is? Its not about how Bruce thinks hes doing WE WILL BE THE JUDGE OF THAT MR BRUCE!!!!!
Im ****ing sick of this "we finished 10th last year, best 3rd best finish in 50 years so you should be happy" bollocks, if thats all we aspire to and is the limit of our being then whats the ****in point? Quinn has made us believe were gonna push to challenge for some european football and cracks at the cups but with this plank in charge that simply will not happen!
I like posting on this forum because cestria saves me from having to post what I think about this situation with Bruce. The reason why Bruce won't hold his hands up and admit that he has completely screwed up is because he himself doesn't recognise what a shambles he has turned our club into. Bruce actually believes he is doing a good job. Bruce is an embarrassment upon our club and will also prove to be an embarrassment upon Sir Niall's legacy, which is a dreadful shame for all concerned.
