Under a cloud I would suspect but didn't know where to position his umbrella. I love how the article has highlights of the Burnley 5-1 at the end of it. lol http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15145175.stm
Dave Jones will probably end up at Forest. Can't see them tempting Martin O'Neill or Mark Hughes there.
Dave Jones will be the man. He knows how to do the job on a shoestring (ish) and isn't a whinging manager. I hope he gets it, and hope he gets great success with them (going up behind Saints). He got a rough deal from the bloke we hung from the Itchen Bridge. Strachan would need to spend and as CBK says O'Neil and Hughes would want something bigger. Clough I think will need to succeed at Derby first, although it would be of Harry proportions if he did make that move.
Agreed. Dave Jones is one of the game's good guys and I was gutted with the way Lowe treated him. It was a shameful time for our club, and I'd love to see him back at SMS, but as we're going up and Forest aren't we may have to wait awhile and content ourselves with singing his name at their place when we next pass through!
drifting off topic, but has anyone read his book? I read it and was just stunned. The treatment he got and what his family went through was heart breaking. I have so much time for Dave Jones. I am pleased he is not at Cardiff anymore, because I never wanted them to go up, but would have been delighted for Dave Jones. He is a true gent of the game.
Do people think Jones would want that job, after all the board have excessive expectations at Forrest and he did not deliver on his promotion at Cardiff. I see Jones either applying for Blackburn (soon) or somewhere else but I'm not sure he would want to go to Nottm.
I think he might want it. He is out of work (though not skint!) and loves football. He may feel that Blackburn job is a hiding to nothing and I also think the owners there would want a bigger name. They are more likely to go for a Mark Hughes or Martin O'Neil if they could convince them.
Yep, the moment this happened last night I texted my Forest mate to say that I reckoned their next manager would be Dave Jones or Aidy Boothroyd. Someone who knows the division inside-out, and would be happy to work on a budget. (If Forest actually have money to spend, then a) why not give it to McClaren to spend, or b) why not use it to tempt the likes of O'Neil or Pearce back in the summer?).
