Seen posts on here of City going up. Reality Is we have a squad of league 1 players and those who were in the squad last year in the championship no other club has wanted to take. Unless we have new owners who are willing to invest large sums of money we are going to yo yo between divisions. Guess this is going to be contra versional
Honeymonster (League MVP by a mile) Emmanuel - great trade. Made RB his own. Greaves - new star, thank you Dad.
Not controversial. First off, we need to get promoted! LONG way to go ("with many bumps in the road to come"). But if we get there, maybe, despite being an alleged £40m in debt, our relative stability may mean there will always be at least 3 clubs much worse than us. Plus, all deadwood has been cleared out completely now and we have some really promising youngsters, both in the 1st team squad and in our youth teams. We should have every chance of re-establishing ourselves as a decent CCC club minimum. IMO, we really need to get promoted this season, not least in case there is a shake up of the league structure. So far so good .... bar one pretty big bump. .
The reality is we do have a squad of League 1 players because we are in League 1 and top of it ? Don't understand the ' no other club wanted' bit about last years squad ? Maybe theydidn't want them on the money they were on and only one to my knowledge is still looking for a club, as is Nigel Adkins who signed most of them. Owners who are 'willing to invest large sums of money' don't grow on trees and in my 50 odd years of supporting Hull City the present owners have invested more then all the others put together, so if your waiting for a fairy godmother I wouldn't hold your breath.
Honeyman is proving quite a few people wrong isn't he. I love that, it shows he has a really good attitude. Good signing.
1. Gorgeous George - certainly found his level in league 1 has been outstanding and again last night he was the one midfielder who stood out for us. 2. Greaves - for a young lad he is wonderfully composed and the brave header towards the end of the game was brilliant defending. 3. Emmanuel - when he came on for the unfortunate Coyle the game started to change in our favour with his driving runs getting us up field. The rest I would describe as workmanlike without really shining although Burke again looked decent.
Completely agree with you on your three MOM choices and Burke BAB, but I think you're underrating the Honeymonster. On his form this season and since January I think he will be outstanding next year if we are promoted. He is standing out in this League and will certainly be the subject of good offers in the off-season.
From the little I've seen of him, I don't think there's any reason Honeyman couldn't make a decent championship player.
