What an afternoon and it has to be said it has been coming. Was slightly worried about this game but the players have obviously relished the occasion and stepped up so well.
    I see we played Bobby and AJ, does this mean we played 4 - 4 - 2 or did BZ step off and become the 3rd player in a 4 - 2 - 3 - 1.

Whatever the formation let's just say take a bow all 11 players, long may it continue.

    From those that watched,who would you pick as M O T M,
for me this was a team effort, but obviously AJ BZ & the work rate of Demps,
    slightly edged it.

Didn't get to the game unfortunately, but what a win based on the commentary AJ must be MOTM but credit must go to everyone. And froggie i think this is the jol factor coming through, whereby our players are becoming very interchangeable in terms of their positions going forward. As long as we have murphy and sidwell sitting in central midfield, im quite happy with any of our forwards/wingers in any kind of line up. This win today was without kasami, duff, sa and ruiz starting so we are clearly building a strong squad of versatile and creative players.

to me we played the same as we've done all season. It just clicked today. Good banter as well. AJ has 9 this season, 6 in Europa who cares, he's scoring goals.

This was a real team effort today, with good performances all over the park. The back 4 looked well settled, and I think a good word for Steve Sidwell is in order.
The interchangeability up-front was high-rate stuff - really good to see! Already mentioned AJ elsewhere, but Bobby, Demps and Dembele al did well.

Just like to echo Gera's point about interchangeablility. Maarten J is developing our squad and for the future (e.g. regular european competition) that is essential. BMJ is (rightly in my opininion) playing "the long game!" - as opposed to a short term strategy.

Agree everyone played extremely well, I literally can't find fault with anyone. Oddly, when I was at the game I thought that Sidwell didn't do much but then watching MOTD I realised he did loads.

As others have said, I think we played yesterday the way we've been playing all season but yesterday it clicked and QPR either couldn't or didn't deal with it, hence the outstanding result.

I just hope the international break hasn't come at the wrong time and we can carry on in 2 weeks as we left off yesterday.

I'd far rather go into the break with a big, confidence boosting win under our belts than have to sit and wait to get a poor performance out of our system. Life is good.

Captain, I agree, I just don't want to have to wait for 2 weeks until I see us play like that again!

I could live with waiting two weeks for another performance like that. I just don't want to be waiting two years for another one! Mind you, that's our third 6-goal haul in just under 14 months, so maybe we won't have to wait too long.

What a great result, we caught the hoops on a bad day and fully took advantage. It's not that we've played badly recently, just not had the finish.
Although he's getting on, the pass to AJ from Murphy for his 3rd was sublime. Total quality.
I thought it was a good set up. Solid at the back, a bit narrow in midfield but it worked and BZ and AJ were outstanding. Aj, to his credit, didn't stop running the channels all day. It's something he does all the time but gets little credit for it. Good stuff. COYW

From my position at the back of the Hammersmith End, I think it was 4-2-3-1 but, such was our dominance, at times it was more like 4-2-4 or even 2-4-4! The forward players were interchangeable. There were times when AJ was furthest forward with BZ dropping off, and times when it was the other way round. I thought Dembele roaming around and cutting in from the right was much more effective than when he plays more as a second striker. Sidwell's energy in midfield also deserves a mention in the searing heat yesterday afternoon.

Hard to think of a player who had a bad game, but MOTM has to be AJ - scored three, won a penalty and made the fifth for Dempsey. What more can you ask for? If his volley from BZ's knock down in the first half had gone in it would have been a goal of the season contender.

On a slightly different note - the glorious sunshine, the walk through Bishop's Park on the way to the match, the atmosphere inside the ground: all good reasons why we'll never leave the Cottage to share some soulless modern stadium with QPR or anyone else!
