I see Derby have only getting 3 points (1 win) from their opening 6 league games. Got me thinking, as clubs are on their arses because of Covid, will Championship clubs and lower be able to afford sacking their managers at the minute? Will managers find their clubs more forgiving at present because of this? Will fans be aware that their club might not be able to sack their manager, even if everybody thinks they deserve it?
I do think that having no fans in stadiums is a bit of a help for some struggling managers. Can't help their cause after the final whistle blows and fans screaming at the manager and the board when things are going tits up, I actually think it helped Parky at the end of last season having no fans, I reckon he would have had a torrid time with our fans.
It's interesting that if anything the better the player the worse the manager. Almost all the best managers were plodders as players but apparently concealing genius footballing brains throughout their careers.
It's not but I wonder how much of that was on merit and how much was hoping that a superstar player would go on to be a superstar manager.
